I know what you mean. I've been through layoffs in the past. But no matter what happens, it doesn't mean that we "get" to eat! Think about it... won't it just make you feel worse if you go off the rails? I don't mean a little, I mean "bury your head in ice cream."
Food isn't a drug, although it can be used that way. I know--I've used it to feel better myself in the past. I try not to do that now.
Find some other way to feel better! Call a friend and talk! Rent a good, uplifting movie (and plan some HEALTHY, low cal snacks)! Go for a walk or a drive somewhere pretty. Get yourself something new--or new to you. Visit a used bookstore. There are many ways to help change your mood!
