Default Anyone here ever been to BD's Mongolian Barbeque?

http://www.gomongo.com/

This place is absolutely fantastic. You get a bowl and go up to the food selections, which are in a buffet style. You pick what you want (meats, vegetables, sauces) and put it in your bowl. You create your own stir-fry. Then you take it to the guys working the grill and they cook it all right there in front of you.

You choose what you want to eat and how much. It's awesome!

I go there once in a while. I generally eat half of my meal and take the other half home. They also have brown rice.

I used to go to the one in Bethesda, MD when I lived there. I do like it, it's fun making your own flavor combinations. Plus it's one of the few buffet type places that actually charges you less if you're a vegetarian. I think all buffets should be that way!

I'll admit its the only buffet I like (ok I like salad buffets too)

I can't stand buffets normally. The idea that some food has been sitting out and you expect me to eat it? Plus it is usually subpar food and never tastes the same as if someone prepared it for you. Buffets just generally gives me images of animals at a trough and I don't want to be one of those animals...

I love BDs! They are one of my favorite places and the food is amazing. I normally fill my bowl with mostly veggies and then add some meat. Their salad bar is not bad either. Also I ask them to cook my food with no oil, they put oil on the grill then wipe most of it off, which makes it a little bit heathier.

One last point you can get their nutritional info on their web site.

I go there too, from time to time, and do make use of the nutritional info. But don't forget they use a lot of oil, which adds significantly to the calorie count!

Our local Chinese restaurant sports a Mongolian buffet and my husband swears by it. I think it's pretty good. The only thing is they automatically put some kind of sauce on it. I'm not sure if it's just soy sauce or if it's some kind of special "blend".

My family loves BDs! I can't wait to go there when I'm back home visiting.

Hmm, they don't do that at our BD's. You choose your own sauce and they put on the sauce you give them that you grabbed from the bar.
