Default Fiber Wise Pasta

I have made a new discovery!

I am basically averse to whole wheat pasta. Whole wheat pasta seems, to me, to violate the laws of nature, so I've never tried it. (More often than not, I make my own pasta from scratch, anyway, rather than buy the packaged stuff.)

That said, I picked up a box of Fiber Wise High Fiber Spirals at the grocery store a few weeks ago and finally got around to trying them tonight. They're great! They taste and look like regular boxed pasta (bf agreed) but have 170 cals/serving with 12g fiber and 8g protein. And, I swear, there was more volume for my 2oz than there is with my regular Barilla spirals. Magical! We both felt that we were sitting down to a giant bowl of pasta instead of a meager 2oz serving.

Also, the ingredient list contains only: semolina, pea flour, flax flour, corn flour and egg whites--no nasties. (And, for the more ambitious among us, a recipe that can potentially be replicated in our own kitchens.)

Hooray for new food discoveries!

Sounds interesting!

Another high fiber pasta is Fiber Gourmet. One serving (2 oz) has 120 calories and 18 grams of pasta. Jennifer tried it, but she hasn't told me yet how it was.

Barilla Plus has a similar ingredient list and tastes like regular pasta with extra fiber. That's what I use when I'm making something where it's necessary to have white pasta. I really love ww pasta myself.

I bought some yesterday because you recommended it. I'll be trying it out over the weekend.
