This is for everyone who had been reading "Social Anxiety" and "Holding Back". I think its time that we look at ourselves and appreciate what we have. Is it okay to love yourself even if you are overweight.
So I am challenging everyone who reads this to come up with 5 things they love about themselves.
Here's mine:
1.My Eyes
2.My body proportions
3.My enormous laugh
4.My feet
5.My shoulders-I have nice shoulders
It took me some time to come up with these. Its sad that I struggled to find 5 things I love about myself. I think maybe a lot to do with weight loss is being in the right state of mind.
1) the shape of my lips
2) the shape of my face (when it's not covered in fat, i actually think I have a pretty face.
3) I am easy to get along with, and loving and compassionate and friendly.
4) my slender fingers ( I wear a size 5 ring)
5) my height...i think 5'6" is the perfect height (Not to offend anyone else out there shorter or taller than that...I am just happy with it.)
And may I add...that was very hard. Not that I don't like myself, but to think of 5 things about myself that I do like was not easy. I don't usually sit around thinking about what I do like about myself, usually just the things I don't like. I got to number 4 and stalled for almost 5 minutes to come up with number 4 & 5.
1. I have pretty hazel eyes
2. I know more about Kingdom Hearts than my friend who got me into it! (I can name all of the Organization members in order with their element and name!)
3. I have cute little feet
4. I'm the first one my neighbor comes to for homework help
5. My hair is a pretty golden color
I have an idea. We should pick one asset and highlight it. In my case, I have nice feet, but I don't take very good care of them. I will make time in the next few days to give myself a pedicure and use bright red nail polish.
1. I have a witty sense of humor.
2. I'm smart, dagnabbit!
3. I think, generally speaking, I'm cute.
4. I'm a pretty even keel, relatively laid-back person. I don't have wild mood swings, things don't stress me out too much.
5. I think I have a good dose of common sense and I tend to let my head control things...keeps me out of trouble!
Good idea Gailr42...I guess since i already wear makeup and lipstick...I guess i should treat myself to a manicure. I already have nice, long fingernails, so i just need to get them shaped up and painted and moisturized.
Here's some physical things, because it's what I need to remind myself of most:
I have beautiful strawberry blonde hair, nearly to my waist.
I have very clear and unwrinkled skin on my face.
My facial features are very proportionate.
I LOVE my cleavage!
I am proportionate, with an hourglass figure (Hey, it's a BIG hourglass, but an hourglass all the same! ) .
WOHOOOO!!! I don't know about you all but I felt so good reading all of the other things people cherish about themselves. I think its a good idea when you look in the mirror and see all the negative things, that you take a step back and remind yourself about all the amazing things.
It's amazing how difficult it is to find five things I like about myself! I can name a hundred things I hate.
1. I ALWAYS make people feel comfortable. (even if it's at my own expense)
2. I'm a good wife and mom.
3. I come to work every day and do an excellent job.
4. I have a great sense of humor.
5. I'm smarter than I let people know. (that's actually a symptom of #1 on this list).
I can't really list anything physical because I do not like my looks right now, but I'm working toward fixing that!
