Default IBS Confusion

Hello all out there in the uk!

Very odd posting this and not knowing anyone out there - also took me 30 mins to work out how to post a 'thread' in the first place!

I suffer from IBS (irritable bowel syndrome for those lucky few who don't have it) and after spending this morning crippled with cramps etc. (we won't go into the gory details!) I decided enough was enough.

I have done my research which basically tells me what I knew before - need not to eat the bad stuff, eat more of the good stuff and take regular exercise - don't you hate it when that happens....

So, I decided that as it is a lonely road out there whether you have 10 kg to loose or 5kg it is worth seeing if anyone else out there has the same probs and can offer any sensible advice!

Wish all of you the best foot forward with your journeys and hopefully we can all shift that weight together!

x

As far as my experience has been (I have IBS too), it is pretty much the same now as it was at my high weight.

But, I just take OTC meds when I have problems. A few Immodium usually puts a stop to the cramps and "gory details".

I suffer with it too, started the night before my last GCSE when i was at school. Was awake all night with it.
My pain is still the same now as it was before - my bowel movements are the only thing effected by the exercise i do.

Has anyone tried those "friendly bacteria" drinks?

I used to suffer horribly with IBS - I couldn't go out for a meal without having to spend hours in the toilet afterwards

Then I started taking those drinks every day, AND just listening to my body and not eating past my "satisfied" point and I don't seem to have any symptoms at all any more.

Default IBS Confusion

I've suffered from IBS for years, the only thing that helps me is trying to eat sensibly and making sure I never go without Imodium where-ever I go!

When I was on Slimming World I found that was the most stable it had ever been, my triggers are stress, not necessarily what I eat.

You have a friend here, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!
