Just wondering how much water everyone drinks per day?

I've heard before 1/2 ounce per pound so basically 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water.. that seems like soooo much. (I'm 240 so would be drinking 120 ounces of water.. I really don't think I can do that)

I average 80 to 100 ounces. I drink it by the 20 ounce bottles and I never get less than 3 and usually 4-5 bottles a day. I will try to do more than that for the next few days since I made a lot of bad choices over the weekend.

Back in November I had a personal trainer who told me 10 cups a day. I did that some days but mostly get 1&1/2 litres to 2 litres in a day. Somedays it seems alot harder than others to drink all that water.

I try to always get my 64 oz in, but usually it ends there. I'm trying to aim for 80 oz this week. I think the minimum is 64 oz. I know that I feel better when I'm well hydrated.

I don't really count but I can say that I've had about 48 oz of liquid today so far. I think getting in somewhere around 100 won't be a problem for me today. I drink unsweetened iced and water as my liquid.

I easily drink 10 -12 glasses of water a day. I really miss it when I don't get it in on the trips we take.

I drink a ton of water. I have a 48 oz bottle at work that I fill in the morning, and then once or twice more.. at the gym I drink another 20 oz or so. I really like to.. it fills me up, and keeps me from snacking.

So between 100-150 oz a day, I'd say... I'm trying to get closer to 150

I have a 24 oz bottle that I fill 3 times, so 72 oz's at least. I make myself do that much and any other that I get is just a plus.

I usually shoot for the half body weight amount. Some days it's more and some less, but on average, yeah, about 110 ounces.

I have no trouble getting in my water every day. I drink at least 96oz daily (sometimes more), and often have two or three cups of peppermint tea.

I usually have 3-4 liters of water a day. If it's hotter, and I am walking outside and/or working in the yard, I can easily DOUBLE that on those days.

I do between 100-150 oz a day, but I love water, I have no problem drinking it all day long.

I fill up a 2 liter bottle per day........and drink it all day long......
then the next morning fill it up again!

I'm at about 60 ounces a day plus however much from the melted ice. Straight, plain water is the quickest way to unbelievable heart burn for me. It's like the water gets under the stomach acid to float it and holy moly does that hurt. A pinch of sweetener and a squeeze of lemon, no issues. Probably not the best way to drink it, pretty sure there are other issues I'm causing by doing that, but it's currently the only way that works for me.

Interestingly enough, without at least a liter a day do I gain weight! Water retention sucks and takes forever to reverse.

For me, it's 2 to 3 L/day (about 10 to 14 cups) but that includes all my liquids. To some, I'm adding protein shake or soluble fibre powders, and some others include weak green or herbal teas. I'm not eating much, so all that liquid is necessary to keep me feeling full, just like so many other members have already posted.

I'm probably around 80-90oz when you include all the tea (usually 2-3 good sized mugs) and all the water. I normally put half of a single crystal lite pack into each 16 oz cup of water - because I don't like just drinking plain water - unless I am super thirsty, which never seems to happen anymore! Wonder why!! :)

100 oz is my normal water intake.

04-09-2007, 09:01 PM
320 ounces per day, baby!

04-09-2007, 11:49 PM
I rarely drink anything but water. On occasion I will have Gatorade or juice.

I probably drink around 180 ounces a day.

04-09-2007, 11:54 PM
Um, only when I'm thirsty. Which is not good. Not good at all...

Mental note: Buy a 32 ounce water bottle at the store tomorrow.

While I am at work, I keep 20oz bottles of water in the fridge. I open 1 per day, and refill it 3 -4 times. So thats roughly, 80 - 100oz per day. I have unsweetened iced tea in the evenings. I do drink more tea than water on the weekends. I also have heartburn issues with too much water and will occasionally buy the calorie-free flavor packets to add to it.

Water is another one of those pesky things I must plan. When I have it pre measured and cold, I have no problem getting more than 64 ounces. If it's not in the fridge, I get incredibly lazy about getting out some ice cubes.

Some days, I'm way better than others....

I guess I'm an anomaly, but I don't track my water or other fluid intake. It's just not that important to me.

I drink never enough....

I drink never enough....

Enough for what?
You're not dead yet, so obviously you're at least hydrated enough to LIVE! :D

I started paying attention to how much I wasn't drinking about 3 wks ago. Upped the water intake to probably 64 -75 oz. per day. What I've noticed is that while I still have those pesky facial wrinkles, esp. on my forehead (I'm an animated individual, what can I say? ;)), they no longer look or feel like crevices. They're much softer now. Hydration is great!

Yeah, water does do wonders for you skin! I totally notice it.

Such A Pretty Face:
Ok I'm confused -- you can't mean 320 ounces a day can you? 320 divided by 8 -That would be 40 glasses of water a day.
You could do "Laps" in 320 ounces :swim:
Yep, that is what I mean. I drink anywhere from 2-3 gallons per day. I am on kidney medication that is like a super-diuretic. I must drink when I feel thirsty, and I must drink after I void. It comes out to 2 sometimes 3 gallons per day depending on my activity level.

I don't drink near the water that I want to. I grew up on a farm with well water so that is what I am used to. Now my dh and I live in our small town and we have city water and I HATE it. I can see floaties it doesn't taste near as good as my parents water. We can't afford to get a water softner or filtration system or we would. I probably drink 40 oz. of unsweetened tea a day, and about the same in water. I am trying to grow up and get past the floaties. Hopefully I will soon.
