Default Looking for new LL buddies/ or even buddies

So my story over the last couple of months.

I joined weight watchers in Nov 2006 and there were times where i couldnt stick to it, but then the times that i did i always gained weight, so i gave that up in january. Ate normal and didnt put on much weight throughout january,

In Febuary i saw an old college lecturer and was amazed at how much weight she'd lost. i found out the diet she was doing was lighterlife, id already looked at this and also looked at the price, knowing that i wasnt going to pay that much to do something that i didnt think would work, like every diet that i tried, but seeing her completely changed my views, so after i worked out that i could afford it, because i wouldnt be spending my money on rubbish anymore, i went to an information night about lighterlife at the beginning of March, went to the doctors and got my check up and then didnt here anything for two weeks when i got a phone call asking if i wanted to start that class.

So Wednesday 14th March i started my weight loss journey again! for the 100th + time, but with lighterlife, as with any other diet at first i didnt think it was going to work, altho seeing somebody who has now lost 6stone. i still had my doubts.

Ive never found a diet so easy to stick too aslong as you get the thought of food out your head.

I know this is just the beginning of it and i have a long way to go, but i really think this time i really will end up what i want to be.

Ive been doing lighterlife for 3 weeks today and lost and incredible 18lbs

So now im lookin for people to help me along the way, which i will do to them of course.

Default I'm here!

Hiya
I'm on Lighterlife too - currently on week 10 and I've lost just over 3 stones according to my weigh-in this morning!
I'd also tried loads of different diets and always failed miserably - and I have had a couple of blips on this diet too, but it's the best thing I've ever done.
Things have finally started to click forme this week. I feel great and I'm starting to see the weight-loss - whereas earlier on everyone was commenting but I couldn't see it myself.
Well done on your loss so far! It looks like you have a similar amount to lose as me.

Well that didnt take long to find someone week 10... wow!
im glad to here that you've had some lapses,i thought it was just me i had a couple at the weekend just gone, although im only starting week 4, the weekend proved a bit too hard for me, i went to a party, there was alcohol and food, you know how it works, and im dreading my weigh in on saturday, the water this week has been a problem for me too, only been drinking 1-2 ltrs which is dreadful i know, this week i think for me has just been terrible and its all down to my cheating at the weekend, i just couldnt get my mind back on track, until yesterday, and today im on top form again.

so another 4 weeks and u get to see ur b4 and after photos, bet your excited.

ive had alot of people comment on the weight ive lost already but i cant seem to get round it myself, i know its nice for them to comment but i think to myself. ive only lost a stone, i have 6 more to go, maybe this is just me thinking that i havent lost any yet. who knows.

Hi

I had loads of problems with cheating up until a couple of weeks ago, when I suddenly realised that even though I was losing weight I would have probably lost more if I hadn't cheated
You do need to drink more water though. There's a lady in our group who says she just can't, and she only loses about 1-2 lbs a week on average - she didn't lose anything at all one week. She also has problems with her bowels because of it.
I drink out of water bottles - like evian or buxton that you can buy - the 1 litre ones. And I always use the orange flavouring as well, partly cos it's a nice change from water, and partly because it helps prevent constipation. I just swig them all day when I'm working or driving (even doing it now lol) and I go through loads without realising. I also try to get through at least two litres before tea-time otherwise there's no way I can manage 3 at night.

You are doing so well though - keep it up! If you want to contact me outside of here you always can do - it's [email protected]

this week hasnt been so great for me, but i dont understand why because its the easiest diet ive ever done.. i think i was just letting my old self slip back and i dont like it, yesterday and today have been better, and ill tell everyone at my weigh in on saturday what went wrong this week, if i see the scales go up on saturday it will be the last time that they do. I have a girly holiday in July and i promised myself that i would of lost enough weight to wear a bikini (maybe).

Hi all

I am seriously thinking of starting Lighterlife and your stories have, I think, made my mind up! I've lost just over 4 stone in the last few years doing other diets. However, I now keep on losing and putting back on the same stone! It's so annoying!
I like the idea of LL because it is quick weight loss( obviously), but I also fancy it cos I'm hoping it will stop me being addicted to food..you know what its like..sad, so I'll eat;happy, so i'll eat;bored so i'll eat; socialising...eat and so on!!

Can I just ask if anyone has tried Slimfast too? It's a lot cheaper, but does anyone know if its as successful? I'm a bit horrified at the price of LL, but have to keep telling myself that I'll save all the money I spend on rubbish!

Thanks

Katie

I suppose with lighterlife v slimfast as you pay so much for LL you're maybe more likely to stick with it and you have a support group I think.

The main thing that's worked for me has been the counselling. i also looked at the Cambridge Diet before I started as they're much cheaper, but they don't have any counselling with that.
I really wanted to find out why I pig out and eat the wrong things when I know full well what's good for me and what isn't! I'm far from being able to resist it all the time, but LL is working for me so far. I also liked the management programme (at the end when you've lost the weight). They re-introduce food slowly, and look at trigger foods and intolerances.

by the way flowerfairy, you normally need to have at least 3 stone to lose before you can do LL. Just because you lose weight so fast!

Decided I was def going to give LL a go. Now I cant find a counsellor near me that I can go to til well into May!! Either cos they're full or cos I'm away with work on the days they have info meetings. Really annoyed cos I'm all motivated just now. Bought the Lighterlife magazine today and there are some fantastic weight loss stories in it.

If you've decided you're going to give it a go there are a couple of things you could do to get ready. I was told to look at reducing my carbs and also to start drinking more water, as you have to drink 4 litres a day minimum on the diet!!
I do love the magazine though - it really keeps me motivated. You can buy it cheaper from the LL counsellors too

Went to my first LL meeting last night. Have all my soups and shakes and started today. Very excited!! The group I joined was on its second week. They had a weight loss in their first week of between 7 lbs and 11.5 lbs! Just think, this time next week I could be more than half a stone lighter!! That gives me the boost I need to keep at it. Only thing is, I am cabin crew and go to LAX tomorrow til Sunday. Its going to be really hard having meal replacements when everyone else is going out for lunch/dinner and having drinks. But, I need to do it. Think I will just say I have overeaten and drank a lot recently so am having a wee detox. I can go out for meals with them and just have coffee. That doesnt really bother me. Wish me luck!!
