Default In need of a distraction

Hey guys,

I just received a not a good grade (69/100) on a paper I worked very hard on. I have the option of rewriting it, but just the thought of having that grade in the first place is making me feel sick. I'm kicking myself about it, and I'm trying to not go and eat everything I see. I know it's all in my head, and I just need to give myself a breather. But I'm kind of person that dwells on these kinds of things, which leads to my overeating.

What kinds of distractions can you guys suggest for me?

Thanks.

Read around here! But looks like you're already doing that...

Sorry to hear about your bad grade - You can DO IT!!!

Don't eat unless you are hungry. If you must have something to crunch on, eat some carrots or veggies. This one comedian who had teenage sons said "The way I could tell if my kids were hungry is if I had a cold, limp piece of broccoli in my hand and waved it over their heads and they were fighting each other to get to it - then I knew they were hungry" I try to remember that philosophy... Whenever I feel like eating (same as you - I'm very mood based) I just think of eating a cold bowl of broccoli. That tells me whether I should eat or not.

I was just rambling up there. Just wanted to get your mind off your woes.

Is food gonna change the grade on the paper? No.

Is food gonna alter the fact that you have to rewrite it or accept the grade? No.

Is food gonna make you feel even worse once you're done eating it? Probably.

Is food gonna lead to weight gain? Yes, if it's more food than you burn up.

So--hey--go for a walk outdoors if possible--or indoors. Find a quiet place to sit and journal about your feelings. Include your feelings of wanting to eat. And when it is time for your next meal, have a good meal--healthy foods, balanced foods, enough but not too much.

Hope it helps! good luck!

Thanks guys.

I didn't overeat, and right now I don't plan to. I feel a lot better now, and had a nice, healthy, somewhat indulgent but not too much breakfast.
