I've been a member (off and on) here for years. I was a low carb follower.
Had a few surgeries, gained back my weight. I was diabetic, had very high blood pressure, have PCOS, etc. I had 5 co-morbidities, so needless to say my surgery was approved.
I had my surgery on November 6th, 2006. I had lost 23 lbs prior to surgery and weighed in at 233 the day of surgery. I weighed in yesterday and I'm down to 179!
I'm married (28 years), have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. With two dogs and two cats that I adore.
I'm a SAHM who is starting school tomorrow (part time) to brush up on a few things (computer related) to re-enter the work force in the near future, after being home for nearly 11 years now.
I've had no complications, except for one immediately after surgery that cleared itself up. I'm considered a "lightweight", but my co-morbidities were getting so out of hand, I felt I had to do this to save my life so I could live to see my children and grandchildren grow up.
I'm proud to say that I'm off ALL meds. Diabetes is a thing of the past, as well as my high blood pressure. My insulin levels have also leveled out.
Anyway, that's about it in a nutshell. I look forward to getting to know all of you!
