Ellis, how wonderful! Congrats to your lovely DD! They had fifth grade graduation at the girls' school yesterday and some of the girls looked ready for the junior prom (gloves, high heels, long pouffy gowns). DD said next year when it is her she is wearing shorts and a t shirt and I said, we'll talk about that next year dear, see what your friends are all going to wear. She said her best friend is also planning to wear shorts and a t shirt.

So I said, we'll talk about it NEXT year, dear!

Your DD has graduated from middle school, is that right? Anyway I am so glad you all had a happy day, that is just what graduations should be! Hugs to you both,

Lidian

Thank you Mauvais, Den, Lidian and Squeak!

Yes, Lidian... she just graduated from grade 8. High school next! Yikes!!
Did I mention that she's on medication for her depression now? As of last week. Hopefully it will work REALLY well, and she'll have a fantastic first year of high school.

You should have SEEN some of the outfits! Some very cute/ugly punks, some very sleezy outfits, some beautiful ethnic costumes, and a few girls who honest-to-gawd looked like rapunzel. Long flowing gowns with draping sleeves and criss-crossed bodices in gold... one in a very dark green and another in black...

Your daughter sounds cool, Lidian. That would be me, too. It's amazing what peer pressure will do though...

We took pictures. It's getting them developed that's the problem...
Thanks, Ruth.

She deserves to have a very happy summer and next year in high school for sure! And yes we would love to see a picture if possible!

Lidian

(You know, my DD is a lot like me too - I never wear skirts or dresses unless I have to look decent, hahaha, for a family outing...and I never look right or comfortable really!)
