Ellis Dinner turned out to be great- it really is best for us to just invite them over to our place. They never stay late- and they were thrilled to drive up and see DD. I wound up sending DH out for two rotisserie chickens, which we had with twice baked garlic potatoes and spinach salad. I did FF pudding parfaits for dessert and that was that!

DH is motivated on the house organization and decorating too! He cleared out the front room, which was eventually going to be a formal dining room. It is now going to be an office/playroom. We went to Home Depot yesterday and picked out some really neat paint. It is kind of a light khaki color, but when you paint gives this subtle suede effect. I think it is going to look really great. After that, we just have the nursery and our bedroom and we will feel so settled! (We have lived in this house for two years and pretty much do projects when we have the time and a bit of extra cash. ) I am "letting" him sleep in, so I can guarantee the work will get done.

Back to school tomorrow, but only 9 weeks left! I cannot believe that. The last nine weeks always go so quickly, then the baby is due 4 short weeks after that.

Later gals!

Karen - Sounds like your redecorating is going well. I can't believe how fast the school year is going. Brian is back to school tomorrow too. He was supposed to be working on his project for Reach over the holiday but he didn't get as much done as he should have. At least he still has a few more weeks. He's doing it on Denmark which is the home of the creator of Legos as well as Hans Christian Anderson. I think it will be a cool project for a second grader.

We got a lot done yesterday. We went to Calloways and picked up flowers which Brian planted for his Cub Scout World Conservation patch. Then I planted tomatoes, peppers and assorted herbs. I can't get over how cool today is compared to yesterday. I made it to the Powerflex class for an hour yesterday and that is a real workout. Oh, my FitDeck exercise cards arrived on Friday. I did an hour of the cards on Friday night. Really good exercises and lots of work.

Today, DH and Brian are back out flying model rockets in Celina so I have the day to myself. I'm busy getting stuff organized for the Cub Scout garage sale next weekend. I filled 7 garbage bags with clothes that don't fit anymore. I have so much nice stuff in sizes 14-20 including suits and dresses. Oh, well, no reason to keep it if it doesn't fit. I sure hope we have good weather for the sale! So far I've filled three big boxes with books and 3 more with toys and stuffed animals. It feels good to get the stuff out of here.

We met up with friends at Joe's Crab Shack last night. I had grilled shrimp and mahi mahi with a double order of broccoli and carrots. I did sample a few of Brian's popcorn shrimp but I was down a pound this morning so I guess it didn't do any damage.

Oh, for the person who had been missing pizza. I made mini pizzas with whole wheat pita breads, Ragu pizza sauce, reduced fat mozzarella, canadian bacon or ham and usually mushrooms and onions. Then I melt the cheese in the oven. That is our fast meal on Cub Scout nights. If you serve it with a salad it should be pretty healthy.

Morning everyone....I don't have to work until 6, however it's 6pm until 4 am (inventory!) and I get to work with my boss - the one that brought in 2 cakes, a tub of cookies, a family size carton of fried chicken and mac & cheese & still claims she's lost 9 pounds. My co-worker Jamie, told her that was "quite a feast" & doubted she lost 9 pounds eating like that. I hid in the office laughing! My boss is a simple minded person to say the least.
Abroad - you poor thing. Hopefully his trip back will be better!
Ruth - enjoy church!
Ellis - yeah retail is the pits, but lucky for me I can match wits with the rude people & I work in the snobby/rich/I need to be waited on hand & foot area. Those are my favorite people to knock off their pedistals It makes my day go by faster!
Bamie - take care of mom & yourself!!
Beach bum - enjoy your coffe & book.
Everyone else have a great day & enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I'm off to go grocery shopping with DBF!!!

Hi chickies

Boy we are busy, busy bunch this weekend with all kinds of assorted tasks. Yesterday DS had to make is First Holy Communion plate (that's new since I did mine) then we went to the local bookstore for childrens story hour - and mommy shopping hour. I had to get a book on daily meditations, I got one on henna tattoos and then one about dating out of your league "Up dating" I couldn't resist. Then DS had a birthday party at the local laser tag place. DM made goulash for dinner (I'm not sure why because she is on Atkins) so I had some noodles last night but I took a starch blocker and only ate a few. I'm at the end of my phase I do-over so I think it won't kill me.

Today I had to clean the hamster condo. I built these really cool step ups for him out of wood and DF trimmed them with a sawzall (sp?) so they fit perfect. Can anyone say spoiled rotten rodent? Then I brushed him real good cause he's so fluffy he's barely fitting through the tubes. Then I had to clean out DS's (who we kiddingly refer to as "Paris") closet, drawers and shoes because there really is a difference between a size 8 and size 10. He is getting broad chested and thicker. He doesn't look like a little guy anymore. That took a couple of hours. All the socks, underwears bathing suits. what a nightmare.

I have to recoup some energy and cook my food for next week. I'll peck back in later.

Mama - Prayers and
