Busy day at work today. Hope everyone who is feeling poorly feels better soon. I've been spoiled by the warm (but wet) weather we've had lately. Today started in the mid 60's and it's already down in the 40's. We'll be below freezing before the day is done. I don't THINK the roads are going to ice up but it is still drizzling rain.

Hi Everyone!

I've been gone but I'm back...

The good news: I finished nursing school (huzzah!), I have a job (I start 2/14/05), I'm getting back on plan.

On the flip side I was not exacly on plan for the last half of the semester and really off plan for the last month or so. I haven't gained back everything I lost (unlike DH, but he had predinsone and cortizone working against him due to developing a herniated disk), but I did gain some. I know that part of what kept me from gaining more while in school was the gym class (evil swimming at 6 a.m. in 40 degree F weather in a poorly heated pool is good for burning loads of calories!) and horseback riding.

So... now to get back on the horse so to speak. The rain we've had here has kept me away from the stables and I still have not joined the JCC to use the gym and pool there so that is top of my agenda today. Join the JCC, go to the stable (not raining today! Hooray!)

I want to get back on track... as much as I like eating cookies I liked the feeling of being healthy so much more. I'm dreading the first weeks, I remember how sick I felt as I detoxed the sugars... I'm thinking of doing a modified phase 1 allowing myself apples with laughing cow or soy-nut butter so that I don't get the awful headaches and fatigue I felt the first time.

My goal for this week, besides starting back On Plan is to post every day.

I've missed you all... I see beachgal is a moderator now, hoorary for you! and plugging away toward your goal

It's good to see old "faces" and the new ones too!

Lovingly,

Good Morning Everyone!

I think I'm just going to have really bad luck with exercising this week. I fully intended to get up this morning but my OTHER calf had other ideas for me. 2 days ago, Charlie rode in on his horse to my left calf. It is feeling almost 100% again. This morning, Charlie rode back in to my right calf. I couldn't believe it because this rarely happens to me. Maybe I need some extra vitamins or something? The one this morning isn't near as bad as 2 days ago but it still prevented me from exercise. I think it's a sign not to exercise this week . I'll just make sure to concentrate on everything I'm eating.

I got a nice surprise last night when I got home. DH had most of Christmas taken down. I was kinda sad to see it go but I loathe putting it away myself. He likes things packed a certain way anyway so he can stack it neatly in his attic....he's such a man. The attic and the garage are his (other than my Beetle that I insist parks in the garage). He takes great pride in his areas .

Cottage-I've been having the same problem with drinking so much. I wake up 2 times a night having to go pee. Sometimes I wonder why I even drink water since it seems to go right through me ! Congrats on the 2 pounds lost. I'm going to wait until Monday morning to do my weigh-in. Be careful if the rain turns into ice!

Ruth-Sorry to hear you feel punky. I'd love to be able to go back to bed today but am helping out at our family business while my stepdad goes for a colonoscopy today and my mom takes her cat to the vet. She went blind over the weekend which has her really upset. It seems that there's nothing wrong with her health-wise so she's taking her to an animal eye clinic to hopefully preserve what's left of her vision in one eye. Poor kitty !

Little Chick-Glad to hear your eye is feeling better and that you don't have to work tonight! I can't stand working nights!

Mama-Those darn rude houseguests! Before we bought our house, we lived in a one bedroom apartment that was tiny. My SIL came out to visit and brought her handicapped boyfriend. They wanted to stay at our place and it was a mess! Not only having to deal with houseguests but a wheelchair in our little tiny place almost made me crazy. When my MIL and FIL wanted to come out and visit, they wanted to bring 3 other people and stay at our place. I shot that idea down right away and they ended up staying in a motel. Now we have 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and have been lucky enough not to have any houseguests!

Nally-I'd love to have snow days. It's sunny and clear here and about 62 degrees. DH was my reason I had to wake up early when I wanted to sleep in this past Friday. He called to tell me at 7:30 that he was going to work somewhere else on another job (he's an electrician). I don't know why he called to tell me that, especially because he showed up at the house 10 minutes later. He's just a pain in the rear sometimes! Congrats on the weight loss. I can't wait to see what the scale will say next Monday!

Chipper-Good job going to Curves. I went to a place like it and didn't seem to like it very much. Everyone wanted to constantly talk and it got too busy. It was hard to switch up a routine when somebody is constantly waiting for the station you're at!

Bamie-You sound like you're going through a rough time. I was sick last week for a couple days but took a bunch of some herbal stuff called silver colloidal and it cleared up right away. DH was and is still sick. Try to get some rest and sleep it off. Also drink plenty of water!

Kryss-Your blog is very interesting. People can be so rude sometimes. I would've said to that cafeteria lady (if she had a little excess on her) "Yes, but I didn't see you there. Do you go to Lamaze?" Something like that. Oh well, people are never going to change. I love roasted chickpeas. They are one of my favorite snacks. Even the burnt ones are good. I make sure they are extra crunchy. I think I eat too many of them sometimes though....they give me hiccups!

RNMOM-I can't imagine working where you do. I'm sure you've seen your fill of all kinds of things. I hope your eyes don't turn pink....and if they do Visine gets the red out . Get rid of that stuff in your house. Bad and evil temptations !

Ellis-WOO for a day alone! I have one of those Mt. Laundry things at my house plus I need to do a major cleaning because we are refinancing our house and an appraiser is coming out. At least DH will help me with that and since he took down Christmas last night, it will be a lot easier!

Tilley-Good job on day 1! It's always nice to have someone to diet with. DH isn't on any kind of diet (and doesn't need to be, the bugger) but always eats whatever I give him and loves it. Sometimes he'll add bread or potatoes to what I make. I usually get the worst headaches on day 3 but they go away. Hopefully that won't happen to you but if it does, just tell yourself that they will go away. Congrats on your wedding by the way. I'm a wedding planner and love hearing from brides. April 17 is one of our first semi-celebrity weddings that I'm a bit nervous about. It is one crazy wedding. The bride put in our contract that we must wear black leather if that tells you anything. There will be a bunch of celebrities as well as music producers, etc. so it will be a great opportunity.

Anchor-I just haven't been able to drink teas. Only if I'm very sick. I guess I haven't really had a good one. Good job on the exercise but next time tell the cleaning lady to come back in 10 minutes !

Sweet Tooth-Sounds like you have some busy weekend coming up. I've never been to Canada but would love to go sometime. Every time we visit the in-laws in Minnesota, we always talk about driving up but we never have. Someday.....

Barb-Sounds like it's starting to get chilly there. This is the first day of sunshine we've had in a couple days. Otherwise the rain has been dumping buckets on us! We're expecting more beginning tonight. It's great for the family business (auto collision repair) but terrible to go outside in!

ADDFlower-Welcome back! Isn't it nice to have the rain stop and give us a break for a moment? Congrats on the new job! I'm sure it is very exciting for you. Get your beach chair out and set it back up! You can do it!

Talk to you later!

CJ - that's so neat that you're a wedding planner!!!!! What a wonderful job. Black leather, huh! Sounds fun. We're having our wedding in the New Orleans French Quarter and I can't wait. Although I still don't have a ceremony musician, everything else is pretty much done. Oxnard??? I think my best friend (and bridesmaid) is close to you. She's from Ventura. my wedding website is www.tilleynewman.com

Okay, my sinus thingy is not any better this a.m. Another cup of green tea to keep the caffeine monster away from my head. Sinus headache is enough.

We had Ruth's Wild West Steak last night and this a.m. I had pork with the extra onion and pepper sauce over it. I really really liked it. My dh is one of those guys that doesn't put anything on his steak but he managed. He will pretty much eat whatever we fix around here. Ds and dgd (8 yo) are the picky ones but they have to do the picking, I just chop things big enough for them to see to pick out.

Speaking of ds, they are actually moving their mobile home next week which means by the time all the inspectors come it will be about a month and they will be OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT...well you get my point. Then we can get our painting, new floors, and general clean up done.

I had a huge no brainer this a.m. I "always" wash my whites first always have probably always will, well most of the time. My brain was in first load mode and I dumped a bunch of bleach on the jeans that I put in and with my machine there is no retreiving it once it goes in so I tried to pull the jeans out but too late. I really don't want new jeans but looks like I will be shopping tomorrow for some. Hopefully, they will be a bit smaller so they last longer. Frustrating. My old self would call me stupid, the new self says "Darn it, everybody makes mistakes" and moves on. I am hoping they will have some good after holidays sales still going.

Off to get some rest before I have to work tonight. I had someone else work for me last night but I really need to get in there and work tonight. Between the sugar withdrawals and sinus thingy I could feel better. I decided to begin exercise once I feel a little better.

Wow, So many folks I can hardly keep up!

BamieGrl, feel better - I'm with the "chicken soup, put your feet up" crowd. But I put some cayenne, garlic and ginger in mine to help open the tubes.

ADDFlower, welcome back, and it sounds like you've rededicated yourself. Well done!

Mamacita, Flush that toilet, repeatedly and at length, until that silly BIL (read "Bonehead Is LEAVING") lives up to his new acronym.

Everyone who is getting snow now, we in the Northeast are preparing for it this evening through tomorrow - how are you liking it? I'm looking forward to it, because I got some sleds for my birthday last month, and I haven't had anything to use them on! We have an unbelievable hill behind our house - a road that is closed in the winter and packed down by snowmobilers. Makes for a half-mile sled run at a good 30-40 degrees from horizontal - VERY fast. WhoooO!

Everyone else, we're getting so full that I can't keep up! Hope you're all well and OP.

I think I just blew my plan for the day - I was 95% done with the "Spinach and Mushroom Casserole" from the hot case at the grocery for a snack when I realized that the binder holding it together wasn't eggs or ricotta like I thought, but probably ... bread crumbs. Phase 1 Faux Pas, ding ding ding! Darnit! Dang! Rats! And I was doing so well. Eh, I'll have to do extra cardio tonight to compensate, and get right back OP. Chicken Breast Florentine for dinner, here I come! And, I'll have to put together a version of this casserole that is SBD friendly - it is one of my all-time favorites: lots of spinach and mushrooms with mild cheese on top. Perhaps I could USE the ricotta I THOUGHT was in there! :P

Ciao!

I was going to post to everyone individually, but it would be an awfully long one now! It's raining cats & dogs, but we should be just clear of the weather pattern for ice. I had a fun morning with the kids. We played "dress up", and had a lot of laughs dressing up the baby. She was a good sport about it, too. I had a weak moment at lunch, though, making their peanutbutter sandwiches. It looked especially good today and I popped 2 spoonfuls in my mouth before I could control myself! So no almonds for a snack tonight! I'm going to go fix a cup of tea and read a chapter or two before it's time to make supper. Jake is going to eat up the leftover chicken from last night, and I got out some salmon for myself. I'll roast some veggies to go with it. Hope all of you that are "under-the-weather" start feeling better soon.

Tilley-Your website is great! I love it when couples do a website for their guests! I did one for my wedding 2 1/2 years ago as well. Then I put pictures from the big day online. I think they're still there at www.picturetrail.com/christaandkoko. The picture quality isn't all that great because my scanner wasn't very good but you get the idea.

Your wedding sounds so exciting! I've always wanted to go to New Orleans and am hoping to plan a trip this year. We'll see how it goes.

Ventura is the next city over from Oxnard so your friend does live right by me.

You are going to be an absolutely gorgeous bride (and that ring....WOW!). You'll have to promise to show us some pictures!

I'm off to lunch now...
