My radio station just mentioned this study--they found that women, when exposed to frustrating noise that they could not control, ate much more snack food after the noise was stopped. They say that this shows that stress affects women's eating habits even after the stressful event has ended. Interesting!
So maybe that's why I'm starving after work when I've been listening to that damn copier all day... Hmm...could be the constant yammering of my office mate, too.
Hmmm, so maybe my husband complaining, dogs barking, and birds tweeting in my house is what's making me fat? LOL, I knew it had to be something other than my lack of willpower!
You guys are a riot! And yes, Pebbles...we might have to raise our babies without pacifiers and binkies...
I remember in college we learned that noise that we cannot control (like the neighbor kid bouncing a basketball over and over) drives us crazy, but noise we can control (like our clicking a bottlecap) does not. Interesting...
Laurie - totally agree. Noise from TV or my dog never bothered me. I did however yell at the ceiling everytime they decided to rearrange furniture which seemed like every hour.
