Default Hey There! Newbie Here!

Hey there everyone! My name is Samantha, I'm 30 years old, and from Seaford,Delaware. I just happened to stumble upon this awesome place while looking for weightloss options. I have been bouncing between 298 to 306 for the last few months, and it's getting so hard to look at myself in the mirror. I catch myself checking out pics of myself when I was 18 and a senior in high school. I was 185 back then and thought I looked good, so being the weight I am today is just depressing.

I'm currently a Paramedic for Sussex County Delaware, so yeah my job isn't all that great on my weight either. I just signed up to check out the local CURVES facility. Hoping that I can get started in that program, then become comfortable enough to go to a larger gym and work out. I've ALWAYS had problems with my weight, between horrible genes, horrible eating habits, and being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, it has not been fun.

I'm hoping to finally kick this weight off the final time, and live my life happily and enjoy myself again. I look forward to meeting you all!!!!

-Sammie

Hello and welcome! I hope that you are getting medical help
For your PCOS. I was not even aware that the condition existed until I started surfing weight loss forums and saw that there were a lot of women who had the condition.

Yes I am being treated for the PCOS. I was put on birth control, and Metformin. I don't particularly like the Metformin because it wreaks havoc on my GI tract.

Can I ask something? I'm going back and forth on whether to have the LAP Band procedure done. I truly only want to get down to about 200 pounds. Would it even be worth considering?

Sammie, there is a weightloss surgery section on 3 Fat Chicks also. My advice is to get all the information you can and then decide what is best for you.
Good luck!
