Hi Moll
*waves*
I signed up here the day I officially started concentrating on losing weight, and it's been invaluable. There's nothing quite like having people to talk to who understand exactly what you're going through, into the subtleties of weight loss that are beyond the "eat healthy and exercise" general advice you find everywhere! And, this forum is full of lovely people
Oh, and I second the suggestion about breaking the weight loss down into manageable chunks! I want to lose 100lbs (well, now it's 92
) and I would drive myself barking mad if I thought about that for more than a few minutes. I concentrate on 1lb at a time (since I'm losing 100lbs, I call it 100%, so each bit I have to lose sounds even tinier). Just concentrate on one pound at a time. If you're calorie counting, that's about 3500 calories. Imagine you only wanted to lose ONE POUND. How tiny does that seem? If I'm fed up, I think, well... just concentrate on this 1lb for now, right now it's all that matters. Maybe take some starting pics, then put them away and forget about them. I did that, then came back after 8lbs and could actually see a tiny difference
Much as I want to be 112 RIGHT NOW, I must remember to not obsess, enjoy other parts of my life, and focus my attention on the next 1lb.
