My new way of motivating myself in weak moments
Several times in the last few weeks while dieting I would find myself really, really hungry and on the verge of binging, and I desperately tried to remind myself why I shouldn't. I knew that I had good reasons for staying on track, but in a crunch - when yummy food appeared in front of me - those reasons seemed to just vanish.
So what I did is get a regular 5x7 index card, which I've folded and keep on me/in my wallet. On it I've written helpful comments to motivate and inspire me for those weak moments when I need an immediate pep talk. So far it's worked wonderfully. Just knowing it's there is also reassuring.
Some of my notes:
> This diet is only TEMPORARY pain, then you'll be done!
> Think about having that flat stomach [fill-in-the-blank] again.
> If you give in, you're going to feel like CR*P again afterward and get depressed! Don't do it!
> Won't it be cool to show off a sleek physique again and be admired?
Anyway, this has helped me and I thought it may be helpful for others here, too.
