I did not make my "button my shorts" goal for Labor Day, but that's okay, and I'm thinking about our next motivating challenge!
So, I thought, how about a Halloween Challenge? Halloween usually starts the dreaded holiday season that all people on a weight loss journey fear.
My goal is to make Onederland by Halloween. I think that will motivate me to face the holiday season with my mouth shut and my body moving.
What about you?
For those of you who have never done a "holiday" challenge, please know that it doesn't have to be a scale number. It can be a behavior change, a clothes size, or anything you want to accomplish in the next two months.
as of today 4:15 am on monday september 29, 2003 i am changing my halloween goal. i'm afraid i won't make my original goal so i've set a new one. there are approximately 32-33 days until halloween so here goes.......
1) start each day with 2 glasses of water
2) 30 OP days by 10-31
3) not weigh or measure until 10-31 (oh boy that's gonna be a hard one!!)
4) journal every day
5) find something different that i like about myself each day
With 10 weeks or so to Halloween. I would like to challenge myself to loose 20-25 pounds. That would be 2-3 pounds a week! I know I can do it and I will achive my goal by working out 3 times a week at the gym and 2 times a week on my own by walking or doing a workout video.
I'm new to the boards, and starting my new plan on Tuesday. Since it's 10 weeks as someone mentioned, I will make 20 lbs my goal, along with hopefully 1-2 pants sizes. I don't kknow how many lbs makes a size. I'm guessing it depends on how you're built.
I'm so looking forward to this and love these motivational challenges!
Reading all your posts this morning has motivated me. If I could lose just 1 pound a week, I'd be thrilled. I've always thought that losing weight slowly means that you're making changes that you can stick with longterm. So, I'm at 230 now - I'd dearly like to be at 220 by Halloween> Good luck to everyone, and thanks for the kick in the pants.
Okay, I'm in.
I weighed 260 this AM (yahoo -- I guess the vacation no-weight-loss was just a plateau)
So I'm going to weigh 250 by Halloween, and put all my size 26s in the basement, and be wearing only 24s.
I'm pretty sure this is a do-able goal, but promising you all is so scary!
Well, one promise at a time. Next time, maybe I'll be more daring.
halloween. 2 months. well, i can't really pick a number goal but i have a size goal.
i have this pink shiny dress i used one year to be "glenda the good witch" for halloween. i want to wear it again. i think with 10 lbs, i'll fit. so i guess that's my goal.
I'd like to be at 270 for then....thats just a little over 20 pounds in 10 weeks. Since I've actually gained weight in the past month, getting to my labor day goal wasn't an option.
My short term goal is to get to a number on the scale i've never seen before...i want to be in new ground.
My goal for Halloween will be 220, that's about 19 from Tuesday's weigh-in, and about 15 from what the scale said today. I think that is doable. I'm also still hoping to be at 225 by Columbus Day weekend, when I go to visit my sis in Florida.
