So-first week of Lent and I've had to deal with 2 birthday celebrations and "free pie" night at Shari's (my grandpa took us out to dinner!). Suprisingly, the hardest thing for the first week was sweets. I didn't realize how much I looked forward to a few M&Ms at the end of a meal (seems to signal my brain that the meal is over, you know?). And then birthday cakes, cheesecakes, choc turtle torte . . . . But I've gotten over the hump and it's not bothering me anymore.
Now-the urge to relax with a glass of wine after Josie goes to bed is starting to get to me. And Top Model was on last night---that show screams for mocking and alcohol!

Anyway-just got to get it out of my system!
So cute-Josie decided to give up french fries ( I suggested it as a joke-that girl is CRAZY for fries (Mickey D's anyway) ) I don't think she realized how long Lent is and I expected her to cave by now-esp when we went to Shari's where she usually gets her mini corn dogs and fries. But when I reminded her about the french fries and suggested she get the pancakes and bacon-she agreed. I'm impressed with that girl!
Mary-I had to give up all carbonated drinks when I had my surgery. I was addicted to diet coke so i know how it is. I would suggest that you only drink soda when you're out to dinner, etc and just not have it in the house. That way it's not forbidden-but a treat.
Great job with the losses everyone! Good to hear from you Amy-yes, I CAN do this!
Barri-I'm not following an official LAWL plan-but I do eat low carb.
