hi, i am chipper. i just joined last night for about the 10th time. lost count many times ago. my daughter wanted me to join with her, so i did.
just been searching around and reading posts. i did points plus when it first came out last year. lasted a few weeks and quit. didn't like standing there with the calculator when i was hungry. so much has developed in the last year, so hope it's much easier now.
chipper
I also am not a joiner, and am not sure how I will be with meetings. I didn't love my first meeting. I signed up for the monthly pass that also allows me to go online and use all the tools there. The meetings also felt like I was at AA. "Hello, my name is Madeleine and I am fat. " The leader gave out stickers to people who had lost weight. Yuck. I don't need gold stars from the teacher.
That's why I do WW online, Madeleine When I did WW the first time (way back in the summer of 2003, right before my senior year of college) I had the most amazing leader. She was funny and sarcastic and so supportive. But then I went to my final year of college and had to leave that meeting and didn't like the next leader and, well, I do think having the right meeting makes a HUGE difference.
So now I just do it all online and on my phone and consider 3FC my meeting!!
Turbo, awesome for the skinny day! i have those days too where i *feel* lighter. Some days though, i have to admit i feel so big still. I know ive lost a lot so far and look a lot different, i really just dont notice it. All the lumps and bumps are exactly where they were... just a little smoothed out now lol.
Just as a side note, is anyone else just totally obsessed with clothes??? i cant get enough. I cannot even belive that i used to be in a size 3X trying to hide myself away from the world, I had always thought that baggier was better cause then they couldnt see how fat i was, now i can shop in the regular sizes....uhhh size large? WHAT?!.... the other day i went out to dinner with my boyfriend and a friend and i wore a short tight skirt and a tight shirt.... ive never worn a skirt EVER in my life. I shocked myself. I felt a little self concious, but it felt amazing. ive been looking around online at so many clothing places, i just keep bookmarking everything so i can look at it again when ive lost all i want to lose.
For the skinny days but also the not so skinny days, don't worry, I totally feel you. I'm having tummy problem since a few days : during the afternoon, my tummy all get bloated and I feel HUGE. I guess it makes the skinny days even more special lol
And for the clothes, OMFG. I've never bought that much clothes in all my LIFE. My credit card doesn't like me much these days LOL
Hello all, I'm new to WW I did the program years ago as a kid, my skinny mom put me in it
I tried it once on my own and did it all of two weeks. I'm committed this time though. I am in a challenge on another forum and it's been very motivating. I weigh in Thursday's and I'm down -3.3 today, I started WW Friday of last week and joined online officially 2 days ago.
I'm down 13 pounds since 1/5 and hope I can keep going.
I am a sahm to 4 girls, we have 2 cats and a dog and life is crazy
I have those skinny days and fat days as well. Some days I feel just as bad as when I was 33 pounds heavier. Strange how we sometimes still see ourselves the old way. And yes, I too am having a hard time not spending every penny I have on clothes now!
Tudor Rose - My meeting leader sounds just like the one that you really liked. She's super funny, animated, and just an awesome person to be around. She tells the best stories. I don't really have to go to meetings at this point other than once a month. But I go every week because I genuinely enjoy my leader and my co-workers.
I'm in complete agreement that having a good leader can make a HUGE difference. Or maybe I should say the right leader for you? My first leader was good but, I don't know, I was just kind of.. "meh" about her. But when I changed weigh in days I had a different leader and the difference was like day and night.
You guys! I'm so excited.. my membership went through and I will attend my first WW meeting tomorrow! I'll have access to etools, but if I choose to go online-only, I can after 10 of 13 weeks. No more tracking on my excel spreadsheet, and no more Googling nutritional stats! lol.
hey all, how does it work with meetings and leaders? I am from a rural area, and joined in a small town near me, there is only one meeting per week period. I can go in the other direction to a meeting once a week, and it the larger town nearby there are a few more meetings. They told me to find a meeting here where I am vacationing for a weigh in, but I was too busy to look so I didn't. Can I just change meetings anytime? I am not committed to the place where I signed up?
I knew someone in my area who was a leader, if I can find out if she still does it I would seek her out.
Can I join?
Intro: I re-joined WW for the second, third? time 33 weeks ago. I live in a rural area and there are few options for meetings but one that takes place in my workplace right after I finish work. The first time I did the program (the original Flexpoints) was an at work program at my old job, I gained and lost the same 8 lbs over and over. Since joining this program I've lost a little over 25 (having lost 25 or so on my own leading up to this).
I seem to be stalled out right now. I keep bouncing around between 137 and 142. I need to break the dreaded 135 plateau which has always been a sticking point for me in any weight loss endeavor.
This week I started a 10,000 kettlebell swings challenge with my friend, and am in week three of a Turbo Fire, Chalean Extreme Hybrid. I also got a new treadmill up and running and would like to get back to running again. I have a twitchy ankle, so as much as I love to run sometimes my ankle reacts poorly.
Well I am a bit late getting on this thread this week but here goes
My name is Nancy, I am 50+ years old () I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my husband and parakeet. All my children have grown and are out on there own as of September (yeah?) Anyway it has made it imposible for me to say I did not make it to the gyme because.....
This is the 3rd time for me on weight watchers, and the going has been slow but I would rather go slow then lose quick and gain it back like before.
OMG about clothes, I have this huge tub in my garage that I recently opened and I can fit in to so many things now....shopping in my own garage
I just got back from 7 days in oakland/san francisco area and 5 days in honolulu so my weight is a bit crazy...on the plus side found some great bargins on some new blouses..
SKINNY DAYS are soo wonderful..I hope to see another one in my future soon after all this traveling
So when I joined, I bought the "deluxe" member package stuff, and got this little points plus calculator. It is AWESOME. small and fits in my purse, and I can go to any packaged food and get info from the nutrition label and plug it in, and get the points value. (of course you still have to be smart and look at what they say a serving is, for instance) With this, I was able to choose a granola bar snack that was 3 points, instead of the one my DH buys which is 5. I compared breads. (gotta watch out, some brands have 2 slices as a serving and others have 1) Also great for cereals.
I am eating lots of veggies and fruits, as is suggested.
I like the on line tracker too. FOr those who have used daily plate and fit day, how do you think the ww tracker compares?
Have a good weekend everyone.
