I am so sorry you had a tragic loss But it looks like it hasn't defeated you. Your success and weight loss so far is AMAZING! that sure gives me some hope!

I really can't add much to all the great insight and experiences laid out here. I lost 100 pounds 18 months ago and gained back about 40 since July. Now I'm losing again. For me I focus on whole foods and avoid junk food - especially sugar.
The two things I will stress for success:
Don't be afraid to try different approaches - 6 meals a day or small meals and a big dinner, low carb or balanced, track every calorie, weigh every day - listen to your body - moods and hungers and cravings - and keep trying things until you find what works for you. Each of us is different and there is no one right way.
Accept that this is for the rest of your life and make changes you can live with.
