I totally understand, I have to actually open the package and dump in our curbside trashcan outside (it's a disgusting trashcan) before I can get trigger foods out of my head. One time, I bought a bag of Godiva dark chocolate and was great at eating just one a day as a treat (and it's good for me!) -- that went on for about a week and then one day, I started going crazy on them. After eating a dozen or so, I had to open each individual chocolate and throw them away outside. Had I just thrown them in without removing them from their wrappers, I would've definitely fished them out and eaten them.
I can't keep brown or powdered sugar in the house, or peanut butter, because I will eat them if I am triggered. I am just resigned to never having trigger foods in the house (and I have some weird ones!) - ever. It sucks, but when I get triggered, I just can't have it here.
