beautiful projects, chickadeee! The snowflakes sure look difficult!

Chelby, Auston is so adorable! That's a pretty great looking Santa, too! (just like he imagined)

Today turned CRAZY! The furnace guy showed 2 hours late...fortunately I got stuff ready for the party while we were waiting! I'm so happy to be home and I don't have to work tomorrow! The dog party was fun. The dogs all love it! I'm going to knit tonight....that's about all.

Chickadeee ~ your work is amazing! I especially like the snowflakes, the work on them looks so intricate!

Chelby ~ that picture of Auston with Santa brought tears to my eyes, too. Enjoy it while you can.

The mall was jammed packed, but we weren't in any hurry and enjoyed ourselves, and the grandkids were on their best behavior because I told them that Santa's elves were there in disguise on spy missions from Santa. Hey, it worked! We were even able to enjoy a nice supper out. The kids and I sang Christmas carols all the way home and it was nice to get home and get in my jammies. I just finished writing out all my Christmas cards, but I completely forgot to get stamps.

Good Morning Everyone, am I the first one up, Wow, let me get the coffee going...........

I feel good today, got alot done yesterday so today is like a bonus day for me. More housework and shopping, our cupboards are bare (we eat at home way too much!). And some sewing time again. It surprised me that everyone commented on the snowflakes, but I really love that snowman. But the flakes are pretty. Thanks

Chelby - Santa and kids are made for each other, he must have had quite the list to go over, huh! Too cute.

We had rain all day yesterday but no snow yet. I don't even think it is freezing out now, and it is still raining this morning. I have to do my weekly weight and measurements today.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable day.

H

Good Morning, Chickadeee. I'm up early, too. I'm always in awe of crafty people. That is not one of my gifts...

We've got a huge project today: I'm helping Jeff cover the water line. We had a water leak last week. He fixed it by replacing 200 foot of line up the driveway. It has to carefully be covered back up so no rocks hit it and break it again. THAT sounds like work! Do you know how many times I've worked with a shovel while he sits on the tractor moving dirt? I don't like it!

I better get moving. Happy Sunday, everyone!

Good morning. Just washed the back room floor and am ready to start my day, Keurig at my side. (Disney definitely has a problem and it'll be vet time tomorrow probably.)

Not too many visitors at the Mill last night so my stint seemed really long. The "Parade of Lights" was happening in the next town (pop. 1000) and that always cuts down on our attendance. Liz relieved me before her scheduled time so it was great to get home a bit early and relax the rest of the evening.

After Church today, I plan some outside work again. I keep planning it but it doesn't happen. There is a birthday party this afternoon for Lorna who is a spry 90 years old. It's at the United Church and she'll probably be running in and out of the kitchen checking things out! There must be something about the Delta well water because we have some pretty feisty old folks. Bruce who is 92 is just dying for the creek to freeze up so he can skate!

Today is also the day when I must wrap and pack my gifts to mail out West and make the decision about whether or not to send Christmas cards this year. At nearly 60 cents in Canada and a buck to the States, I may just be making a donation to our Food Bank instead. Our user numbers are up again this year as the economy worsens.

Just checked the weather and we have a great sunrise with above freezing temperatures for today. It sounds like a good day to actually DO something outside after Church - like continue my sleuthing to find Jazz's escape route.

Happy Sunday. Be sure to take some "comfort and joy" as we gear up for the holidays.

Just turned on the weather and heard it's getting climbing into the mid 50s today. All our outdoor work is done, but I still enjoy the milder temps.

All I have to do today is put the finishing touches on the tree in the livingroom, and I'll probably pop in to Mom & Dad's for a visit. Maybe I'll start wrapping presents and put them under the tree, and Chickadeee's sewing projects reminded me that I really must replace the broken zipper on the overnight bag that I keep at Cindy's. That's a chore I'm not looking forward to.

I've had my second cup of coffee, so bring on the day!

Chickadee - The snowman is adorable! And the snowflakes are lovely. I am envious of your talents!

Chelby - AWWWWWWWWW. Great pic too!

I'm hoping the crowds sleeps in this am, they are way tired. Otherwise, off to church, and then decorate our most perfect tree we picked out yesterday! We had friends over last night to sit in front of the fire, so no decorating got done.

Good morning Just had a good breakfast and am gearing up to head over to the local farm stand at 9. They close for the winter and everything will be 50% off this morning. They don't have much but we've picked up some of the gourmet things we love like goat cheese
My SBD public service announcement - goat cheeses are usually lower fat than regular cheeses so are allowed in the full fat version. I am addicted to soft goat cheese in eggs.

Once I'm home it's a full day of cooking. I have two cooking projects for the Co-op - warm spinach dip and chocolate pecan pie with coffee liquor. It's fun to make really decadent things I have no interest in. Then I'm making a second T-Day dinner for us, with normal fat - tofurky, roasted roots with garlic, mashed cauliflower and cranberry sorbet for dessert. Maybe I'll throw some chick pea crunchies in too.

Happy Sunday!

Good Morning

It's very chilly! I've had slow internet this morning. I'm busy cooking up a storm for potluck today and spending time planning for negotiating around off plan foods, especially desserts.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning,

I have been back reading all of the posts I have missed this week- what a hectic week glad it's behind me.

Ruth- You have been cracking me up with all of your witty comments- love reading them.

Chelby- That picture with Auston is so cute, definitely one to treasure. My work has Santa visiting next saturday I am taking Mackenzie to see him, it will be interesting to see what she tells him, she wrote him a letter stating she wanted a perfect elf? lol

Cottage- Sounds like you had a wonderful day of shopping yesterday. I think as long as you go and are not in a rush you can enjoy even if the mall is crowded. I love the Cheesecake Factory

Tywnn- how did the house appraisal go?

Cyndi- Did you get DW car to the garage yesterday?

Jenne- Hope you are feeling better

Chickadee- Those projects you made are just lovely. I love to decorate for Christmas but I really downscale more each year and try to make it a point that it is not about the gifts. I told my youngest, this is Jesus birthday and the only reason we are giving gifts is that he is not present to receive a present so by giving others a gift it represents giving Jesus a gift for his birthday.

Debbie- Good luck at the potluck

Karen- enjoy your spa stay- I am jealous

Hope I haven't missed anyone for personals, if I did I apologize in advance. We have rain today but it supposed to turn to snow by this evening. Yesterday we went to St. Louis Magic- which is a Christmas event they have some shopping but it is more about the Kids- indoor rides and activities for the kids- they had puppies up for adoption- etc. DH and Mackenzie and I had a great time there. Mackenzie has started having sleepovers at her BFF so DH and I have had time to spent to ourselves, which has been kind of nice if I do so say so myself. I spent last night though wrapping presents and mending and decluttering the house. I still have lots of areas to decluttering but making progress around the house.

Today did not make it to church so will continue with organizing the house and making a quick run to restock essential groceries.

Goal for this upcoming week is to check in here daily.

Have a great day everyone.
