I find a lot of fresh fruits highly "addictive." Clementines, watermelon, Ranier and other yellow cherries, white peaches or nectarines, pommelo and pommelo hybrids, lychee fruit, honeycrisp and other sweet-sour crisp apples...
For the most part, I just incorporate the fruits into my exchange plan. I get three fruit exchanges and I can also spend some or all of my optional exchanges (up to about 500 calories) on fruit.
With Ranier cherries and watermelon, I'll sometimes go on a modified fast (eating all the fruit I want, but not much else except non-starchy veggies), but only for a day or two (and usually my IBS will act up enough to make sure I don't do it for longer).
I had 6 today. I just love them and want nothing else! It's sooo weird. I even dream about them (that could be because the clementines ooze out of my pores, but whatevs)...
Clementines only have about 35 calories each, so even eating 10 a day is still pretty reasonable calorie wise.
I use an exchange plan and two clementines = 1 fruit exchange, and I get 4 fruit servings per day (and can spend my optional calories on more if I want to - though I usually try to spend them on protein, since even fruit carbs can make me hungrier).
So if I spent all my fruit exchanges on clementines, that would be 8 of them.
If I spent all my fruit exchanges, and all my optional "flex" exchanges on clementines, I could eat 14 (760 calories) of them (and still stay within my exchange budget (of 1500 to 1900 calories).
Of course, for me it wouldn't be such a great idea to get more than 40% of my daily calories from sugars, even if it is coming from fruit, but once in a while it's worth the splurge.
I love fruit in general, but find it so filling I don't think I've ever eaten more than one piece at a time. I haven't had clementines in years! I'll check in the grocery store to see if they have bags rather than crates. That's a bit much for a one-person household.
