Default Best Foods for Macular Degeneration?

I just found out, even though I'm only 27, I have early stage macular degeneration. My grandma had it and so does one of my uncles, so I have the family history. Anyway, I need to eat more good fats (got that covered with nuts, olive oil, avocado, etc.) and less bad (already have been, but I can kick it up a notch). I'm getting fish oil supplements and vitamins, but I seem to be finding conflicting information on some websites. Does anyone have specific fruit and vegetable suggestions? I appreciate the help!

Blueberries, blackberries, and bilberries have high antioxidant levels, which have been shown to prevent macular degeneration and yield vision improvement.

I grow blueberries and blackberries and make juice out of them.
If you have a garden, then plant some thornless blackberry bushes this coming spring. Lowes and Home Depot sell them every spring.
They are easy to care for, but must be pruned to yield a lot of berries.
You'll need to eat them the rest of your life, so you might as well grow them.
The berries are expensive to buy.

You can also buy blueberries in jars from import stores. The tiny ones are the best for the eyes. Gordon Food stores sells them frozen in large bags.

They also help with night vision.
I drink 1/2 cup berry juice every day. They also thin the blood and prevent strokes.

I grow pears too. The juice prevents altzheimers and dementia.

You can purchase bilberry tablets online and at some health food stores.

I think Commission E in Germany has looked into bilberries for the eyes.
Search in the internet for "macular degeneration berries". You might find some studies done on them.

The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want,
drink what you don't like, and do what you'd rather not.

The whole fruit is still the best choice. Juice changes the fiber content and it takes a lot of fuit to make a 1/2 cup of juice and that = lots of calories.

my daughter is just 10 but has double cataracts and and a vision deficiency in the upper double digit negative category....her doctor (whom she sees three times a year) always pushed orange and green anything. I would assume it would be similar needs.
