Default New To WW - How many points am I allowed??

hi all,

I'm going to buy the weightwatchers books from ebay soon and start as soon as i have them... the only thing is i don't know how many points i am allowed - can someone let me know how to work it out please?

i did ww on my own a few years ago (just bought the books, didn't go to and pay for meetings etc) and lost a bit of weight but now its all back on i want to give it a real go again!

can someone please also explain the main differences with the new pro points system?

thanks in advance x

Points are based on a couple of factors with your starting weight being one. i don't know if you can go to WW to figure anything out without paying. You might want to register for a month or two of online access so you can get additional support. You may also find that you learn so much through the process that you can maintain your goal weight for a lifetime.

You can also google this info but at the same time it's never as accurate as it would be if you went to a Weight Watchers clinic or signing up online for a trial.

I did it in the past, I don't remember the calculation itself, but it most definitely is worth getting the specs from a specialist good luck hun!!

thank you guys! i think i'm going to join and go to the meetings for a couple of months or something, I'm a little nervous - never been to anything like this! I'm 5'2" and weigh about 13 stone 7 (i haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks because i know I've put on weight and don't want to know how much ) but that way if i join i can get the points allowance, get the books etc and of course the support from everyone else i hope! x

If you get the WW calculator you can get that info in the tools button on it. The instructions come with it and how to use its features. If you are not a meeting person get the At home kit and read read read. Ebay also has many good deals on the items you may want. You can pm me if you want more info.

Dee74 she is in England and their program is not exactly the same as the US, especially in the calculations. Ebay is not good for her.

I had no idea the UK plan is different. So far all of the calculations I have from both US and UK are the same, but they do have different chains and foods. See it is something new everyday!

We don't give out copyrighted information. You should pay for one meeting and get the proper information for yourself and you need to buy a calculator. I pay and I'll be darned if I give it to freeloaders.

Not sure who that was directed at, but she stated she will be going to meetings and is waiting on things she ordered. I suggested the WW calculator. As for myself I attended 2 meetings and had e tools for 3 months. Now I do at home.
No one has given any information that is not freely available. I can no longer afford to pay WW all the fees so have found other means to work the program for me. There are many good websites for dieters of all types out there and WW is really nothing more than counting calories and nudging you to make better food choices. The same can be done with any good nutritional/journal/food diary website. And the will to make a change in your life.

there is a reliable site to determine your daily points target # available online... i would suggest the $5 a week online program however just to get the basics of the program.... i go to meetings every sunday... it holds me accountable and the thought of getting my butt on a scale in front of someone is definate motivation to lose the weight.... but i also understand that it is expensive to lose weight.... we all know that healthy food is more expensive then junk food go figure.... and the meetings can be expensive if on a fixed income.... im very open to answer questions for anyone if you have them.... ive done weight watchers in the past and was super successful.... im back on weight watchers now after having my little girl 10 weeks ago.... i love my daughter but wow can they wreck havic on a body!!!!!

I don't know how much you weigh, but I do know that most people fall into the 34 points area. (on the US points plus) program.
