I also have a Kindle and love it. But DH and I decided we're going to splurge for the newest Kindle and give our used ones to our in-laws. We think they'll enjoy them as they don't take up as much space as books in their RV. I'd really love an iPad, but they're so expensive.

Hi everyone! What a difference several weeks makes, let me tell you. I'm sooo much better than the last time we 'chatted', let me tell you what's been going on.

I'm halfway through the first stage of the NROL4W and I've seen amazing changes in my physique. It's remarkable.

1. I've gained 1.5 lbs. in 6 weeks. Yay! Huge for me and it's all muscle too. I'm eating 2000 calories on maintenance days and 2400 calories on workout days.

2. Posture is improved.

3. Sleep is better.

4. Energy is back.

5. Grip strength is better.

6. Balance is markedly improved.

7. Abs are still razor-sharp.

8. I'm banging out push-ups like nobody's business, lol. I'm onto 'T' ones, how cool is that?!?

9. Quads are taking shape nicely.

10. Glutes are tighter (and higher too).

11. Shoulders are more developed.

12. Biceps are slightly bigger.

13. My depression from my family problems has lessened b/c I'm focusing my energy positively on weight-lifting.

I look in the mirror and don't see a weakling anymore but a strong woman. I used to think that b/c I was smaller in stature that meant that I was weak but not so - small doesn't equal weak. I've proven to myself that I can do endurance sports like running but now I'm proving to myself that I can lift some serious weight too. I love challenging myself. I was starting to feel so burnt out from all the cardio too. I'm doing hardly any cardio and I haven't turned into a blimp like I previously thought.

I got into this for purely vain reasons at first but now I'm seeing that I am training my whole being - body, mind and soul. Weight lifting has given me a focus and right now...that's everything. I'm 110% committed to this program for the next four and a half months. I can't wait to see what other strides I will make with this. Until next time...

Hope everyone is doing well also.

DH has his interview this morning. And another one on Monday. I think the "network" of accounting people has found him. I hope so.

He's asked me to drive him to the subway and I will. So I'm off to the basement gym now to lift my weights and get that done.

TGIF!

I received an email this morning that my winning prize will be dropped off to Angie on Monday afternoon at a yoga class she is teaching at the studio.

Pretty sure I will never see it!

And I am smart enough not to ask questions! lol

Here is my gift ...

FIRST PLACE: A package of body products, candles and books from the Chopra Center for Wellbeing - Value $300 and a free copy of the Home Cooked Comforts ebook.

Thanks once again for all of you that voted here to help me win...

So excited! I just got an email from my SIL. My niece is playing for the state championship in soccer today at Rio Tinto stadium (the professional soccer stadium in SLC) and it's going to be "televised" on the internet so I actually get to watch it! She's a senior and their team is undefeated as far as I know. It'd be great if they win! Just have to get home and have DS hook up DH's computer to the big screen so we can watch.

Gary I'm sure you'll be enjoying some of the recipes from the cookbook and will benefit from Angie's relaxed and peaceful state of mind after she uses the other products.

The mood is decidedly improving in our household. DH now has another job interview next Friday for an analyst's job at a sister company to where he used to work. This is the type of thing he was looking for. And it's only another 10 minutes farther commute from his current part-time job.

I'm hoping this will all be over and we will have some financial security again by the new year!

Nope, they lost. 1 to 0. Too bad as the school has not won a state championship since 2001, and she's a senior--it would have helped her get a scholarship..

SLC is Salt Lake City (as in Utah, where I'm from).

Bummer for your niece ALLISON...those tight losses are though to swallow. Scouts don't care about wins and losses in "team" sports though. They look at the individual players accomplishments and talent. Where she ranks in her league/county high schools will have more of an interest in a scouts assessment of talent than a one game state championship. A lot of talent shows up in game films that have nothing to do with scores.

You never know what can happen either, my daughter, although a pretty decent high school doubles tennis player, had no intentions of playing college tennis. Long story short...coach saw her playing with a dorm mate, put her on the team...she transferred the following year (transfer not for tennis) and ended up with a small tennis scholarship after all and was an Academic All-American her final 2 years for her college division.

So good luck to your niece! You just never know!!

I'm off to work again - fed cats first thing this morning - and then we're going to see a local theatre's production of "Rocky Horror" this evening. Dinner first. I'm getting a bit dressed up but not as anyone from the show.

We're going to a vietnamese place for dinner. Love their pho (soup)!

I also told DH that I can no longer monitor or try to change his eating habits - he has to do it himself. I will set the example and hope he now follows it.

Good Saturday all!

Re: Vietnamese food, I had a Vietnamese neighbor who invited me to dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant, He said he would order, that was OK with me as I didn't know what to order anyway.OMG ! HOT! I cried through the entire mealThat food made jalapeno peppers seem bland.
