Not doing so well in the food control/discipline areas for the last 3 days. Thought I'd share a motivation scripture that I came across in my bible reading today. I've read it a zillion times but tonight it means something a little more special...
II John 1:8-
[I]Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully."
2 SAMUEL 16:7 ~ "Look not on the countenance, or on the height of the stature ... for the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but GOD looks on the heart."
This scripture helps me remember that GOD loves me just as I am -- even now while I am trying to be as healthy as I can.

EXODUS 23:25 ~ And ye shall serve the LORD your GOD, and He will bless your bread and your water; and He will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
This is a nice promise concerning food; so when we say GRACE, we ask that GOD will bless our food to our good health too.
8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.
So glad, I know the "Chief Official." Today, I have resolved!
FREE1 ~ did you also read verse 15 of that same chapter? (Daniel 1:15)
"After 10 days, they were fairer and fatter than the other children ..."
This would be a good chapter about the difference between eating meat and legumes (Pulse is a porridge or stew made of legumes & lentils). These children who were used to Pulse were being fed meat and wine; not really the best diet for kids. You can't really blame them for asking for the food & drink (water) they liked and were use to.
DH and I eat some lean meat (with other foods as well); and we also eat fish & poultry, and some meatless dishes (beans, eggs, cheese, pasta, soups, etc). We eat both what we like and what is balanced & healthy too ...

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. [NIV]
