I'm staying in a Sheraton for the next 2 weeks for work, in a room with no fridge, near no grocery store. Breakfast is provided here at the hotel and meals are catered on our work site. I am now in Phase 1.5 and REALLY working to stay on plan over these weeks. At home, I have so many delicious options to keep me satisfied, but I am really struggling to figure it out on the road so far. I just came from the breakfast and the only thing I could eat was a bowl of scrambled eggs. NOTHING ELSE was SBD ok....the yogurt was full of sugar, there were potatoes AND hash browns, cereal, bagels, bread, juice, muffins, you name it. I feel awful saying "there's nothing to eat" in front of all that food, but I feel so unsatisfied, and I know that kind of mood is what sets me up for a slip-up. At least I am VERY aware of that and have stayed the course so far....
But really?! Just a big gloppy bowl of eggs.... I can't really afford it, but is room service my only option to stay balanced here? Help!

Okay, ranting and venting completed....heading to work and crossing my fingers about the catering...

Thanks for listening everyone : )
Is there a CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid nearby? I always scope one out (or the hotel "store") and stock up on nuts, jerky, and even no sugar protein bars if in that much of a pinch. Being hungry is NOT an option.

Remember too that yogurt has natural sugars in it! I was at a conference not too long ago (and will be again) and you have to make the best with what you have. Was there no bacon (even a slice of regular would help boost the protein)? No fruit? Sometimes, especially when I'm not putting on the conference and can not know the price, I pull a server aside and ask for something "special." Maybe try that? It would suck to have to buy breakfast on your own but is there a place to maybe do that? Plain oatmeal?

I know you are in 1.5 and want to take things slow but don't starve!!! Just my two cents.

Twynn, I just went to the red bean recipe. It says that Uncle Ben's Converted white rice is SBD friendly. Really??? That would be HEAVEN!!! I really hate brown rice. I will do a Cajun Two-Step happy dance for some white rice!

Chelby, Woohoo! Hurray for Auston! I bet he looked pretty cute with his stubby hair all gelled up today, too. Have fun washing all that junk out! And, yes, Uncle Ben's Converted Rice is SBD friendly. I use it to make rice pudding, and I haven't noticed any cravings from it.

mem, that's a shame RE the food choices. Do they offer oatmeal as one of the cereals? That would be a safe bet. As for breads, look for a whole wheat one to have with your eggs to make them a little more substantial, and top off your breakfast with a piece of fruit.
I know you said you're doing a Phase 1.5, but you may have to do a Phase 2 while you're staying at the hotel. Good luck!

Angie, yes, I DO love my job. I've been with them since before the first one was born (10 1/2 years), and now that both girls are in school all day, I wear many different hats there during the day.

I had to change my supper plans. I still made the soup, but didn't have enough feta cheese to make the bread, so I had goat cheese on toasted pita crisps, instead.

I will admit, I used white rice today, I was almost out of brown. Don't tell anyone. Didn't eat much of it, and then sat in a classroom for 3 hours....ZZZzzzzz....
