Default Real food goal, apologies for posting excessivly, and Trader Joes loot

Hi All-

Sorry for posting so much. I am bored. I usually eat when I'm bored but figured I would bug all of you instead.

I have been eating HORRIBLY for the past year or so. As in, I can down four MacDonalds hamburgers and some chicken nuggets on top horribly. As in hardly any vegetables some days. As in processed, carby crap horribly.

My energy is down. I'm officially overweight (thank you BMI). My sex drive is down because I am embarrassed/uncomfortably full. I'm not exercising. I'm staying in more and more to avoid people.

It's not good.

I'm back on Atkins because Atkins is the only way of eating that I've had success with. Over the years I have lost 20-30 lbs at a time and kept it off for a year or two. Then repeated the cycle. The fact that I cycle is not the fault of Atkins, its my fault for not following it into maintenance. I always do induction and then resume normal (ie my crap) eating habits. I am an emotional eater for sure.

This past time I only got down to about 141 before I fell off plan.

I am determined to stick to it this time and get to goal.

Then I want to transition to maintenance on real food. (Found a cool blog 100 day real food challenge). I think it could very very easily be Atkins compatible. It focuses on whole, real, nutritious food. Ie Whole Milk from a local dairy, nothing with preservatives, no store bought food with moer than 5 ingredients, no white flour, or sugar etc. I think I would really enjoy eating this way. I am excited to try it.

Also, just went to Trader Joes to stock up last night for my first day of induction. They have a lot of awesome stuff! *Note not all is induction ok

Frozen Saag Panner (indian food, spinach and cheese) is 10 carbs.
Peanut butter with flax seeds and sea salt (2 net carbs for 2 tablespoons).
Tons of awesome cheese (fresh mozzella, blue cheese, brie etc).
nitrite free sausages.
Good premade food (ie I got beef roast can store in fridge for abotu a month or freeze. Just add veggies and serve). Frozen pork loin stuffed with ricotta and spinach (just take out of the freezer and cook in the oven).
Coconut milk (in a carton like almond milk) for only 1 carb. I am going to try it in my coffee/ to drink.
Jerky
Smoked salmon
Spinach
cabbage
etc.

I find their stuff is cheaper!

Awesome haha - we can talk to each other. It seems like the others don't post/respond too often.

I know the feeling! Well, not the sex drive part...lol. I've been up and down over the last year with my weight...up 20...down 20...up 25...down 20. I'm hoping to stay focused this time! As long as I avoid visiting my parents, I should be fine...lol.

I wish we had somewhere cheap to go. I do get pretty good deals occasionally, but it's always the same stuff. Ya start getting bored after a while.

A tool i use that helps me is an app called Log It...it's for the iPhone/iPod Touch. It's free and you can set it up with your fav foods. I set mine at 20 to represent my allotment of carbs and then input my foods as I eat them. Once added, it's just a matter of selecting them the next time.

Well- I guess I am in good company then! So ya doing Sasknewfire? Last Dec I was so happy! Getting so close to my goal. Then I made a BIG mistake. I offered to babysit a friends kids for the weekend so they could x-mas shop. Part of our activities was baking cookies. I have never been back on plan more than a day or two since. I have gained 39 lbs. I too am living proof that if you don't follow the program and ease back into maintenance it will be disastrous. I tended to stay in Phase I and then just jumped off the wagon. I am back to none of my clothes fitting and to make matters worse learned a couple of months ago that my sister is terminal - at this point only about 7 months to live. I must get back on this program or my stress eating will make me gain even more! Most of this year I was in a court battle with me ex. I am a stress eater.

p.s. Just changed my ticker - can't believe I am back in the 200's again! Was 169 in Dec.

Follow the program!!!

I've heard good things with log-it!

I know the feeling - I was back down to 141 6 months ago. Sigh.

I follow this amazing blog, its called escape from obesity- she has lost like 100 pounds generally the same last 20 and 10 or whatever over and over, but she is no longer anywhere near her starting weight, and if you didnt keep relosing it and only gained imagine where you would be, so keep plugging away!!

Cool I will check it out!

Also - i had the TJ roast last night. Soo good. I think it was like 9 dollars and had enough to serve 3. It was really moist and fall apart (it was precooked).

I just put half a bag of mixed cabbage (green and purple) in a small pot with a little less than a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Then i put the roast on on top of that (so it wasnt touching the pan) with a pat of butter on top of it). I put on a lid and cooked on med low till the butter melted. I served with roast squash (butter, and salt and pepper in my toaster oven). It was a delish meal!
