Thumbs down Sugar craving mishap

Hi all! I've been doing pretty good lately, healthy eating-wise (thanks to all your support), but this evening I had this strong craving for a sugary drink that won't go away. I risked a sweetened malt drink but the craving just wasn't satisfied. I'm expecting TOM in a few days so it's normal for me but this was more frenzied than usual. I ended up squeezing one lime into a glass of water with ice cubes and adding nine-yes-9 sachets of equal. I know equal isn't that good for you, much less 9packs, but I was desperate! Any healthier and low calorie suggestions on how to satisfy intense sugar cravings apart from fruits or juice?

I don't know what plan you're on but maybe something like a low-sugar fruit like blueberries or strawberries. I had intense salty cravings earlier this week because my TOM was near. I just drank like gallons of water until it went away, lol.

What about sugar-free hard candies? I've found them at the grocery store - butterscotch and fruit flavors. They aren't calorie free, but they are lower than regular candy and hard candy lasts longer than other snacks (as long as you don't chew them up!) Good luck!

@fitmom I'm not on any particular plan, just watching my portions and trying to eat healthy, but sadly we don't have strawberries and blueberries here. But we do have grapes though, extremely expensive. I guess those are ok?

@Princess Thanks much I'll look out for those next time I'm in the store, but if I dont find them I'll settle for sugar-free fruit flavored gum.

on certain parts of my cycle I want chocolate really bad (how cliche ). If I go to walgreens and get one of this little skinny cow chocolates and really work on savoring it, I can remind myself that I had what I wanted and I can make it through the craving better. Does that make sense?

So, you had the malted drink, and so as your brain keeps reminding you that you want it, keep reminding your brain that you had some.
