Default New foster pups

Meet Zoe and Emma, my latest foster girls. They were surrendered to a shelter at 5-6 weeks old. Because they were separated from their mom too early, their immune system was not developed enough to protect them from common parasites. So they currently have a major mite infestation with a secondary bacterial infection. Poor little ones are sooooo itchy, but they are best buds and I'm so glad they have each other. We have started an intense regime of antibiotics, advantage, medicated baths and immune boosters so hopefully I'll soon be able to post some less crusty after pics

They are adorable! I hope that they get better soon! I had found a momma and her 3 babies back in February. The mom had to get her hair cut she looks like a shi-tzu mix and the babies are now running around driving me nuts but I couldn't leave them on the side of the road. It breaks my heart that there are people who just give up pets or abandon them without a second thought. At least they were brought to a shelter and not just dumped on the street. I hope the babies get better real soon!

My dog is a rescue dog, I have had him several years, every once in awhile I look at him and think what would have happened to him if it wasn't for a dog rescue group. God bless the folks who will take these precious ones in and save them from certain death.

Thank you all for kind words about the girls. When I see them, I just see all the potential they have if they're given a chance to heal and grow. Although fostering is not without it's challenges, I've found it tremendously rewarding. I've been exceptionally lucky lately because in the last 6 months the 3 dogs my friend and I have co-fostered have all been placed with friends and/or coworkers. They all cherish their new pups and we still get to see them often. I know this trend will not last forever, but I can always hope

Wow, NiteOwlMommy, a mama and 3 pups - you must have your hands full What a wonderful thing you are doing for that little family. bargoo:Thanks for adopting a rescue!

Here's the latest picture of the girls. It may be wishful thinking on my part, but I think they are beginning to respond to the treatment: their skin is less inflamed and they have more energy. In this pic they are wearing "sweaters" made out of socks -that's how tiny they are!

They are so cute and you are a wonderful person to be fostering them. Love those sock sweaters on them; very creative!

Adorable! I'm so glad you're fostering them, I have friends who foster it can be so heartbreaking but it's worth it! Any idea why they were given up so early?

I firmly believe in adopting, all of my mutts have been rescues. Well, one was a give away but they were going to take him to the shelter.

Well the little nekid pups are continuing to improve, slowly but surely. Here is the latest picture, taken this afternoon post bath. Emma, in front, has almost completely beat the bacterial infection and you can start to see a hint of hair regrowth -her darkened face and ears as well as some spots on her back. Zoe unfortunately is still in the "hair loss" phase, but her skin infection is FINALLY starting to retreat. Aunty Jam I don't know much about their back story, I hope to get more info at their next checkup. Thanks for adopting

These sweet babies are so precious. Thank You for opening your home to them.
How are they coming along with their recovery?

We have 2 senior rescues. I can not imagine my life with out them. Even with the occasional yellow puddle
in the floor, and jumping on the kitchen table. It makes them more special to me. It makes me tear up to think
of all the animals that are neglected and abused, and dumped off to the side of the road.
