I've also read this and did a diet where they suggest taking ACV daily. I've also read that even without following a certain plan ACV can help you with weight loss and other health issues.

My friend takes ACV every day, once or twice with her water and according to her it has a huge effect on helping her lose weight, and it even clears up your skin! I tried it for a week, i stopped I really dislike the taste, but if you like ACV I say try it. It wouldn't hurt you, it'll basically cleanse you.

I do know it curbs hunger. I just couldn't do it everyday.

Side Note
: It stops you from being gassy.

I add a spoon to a glass of water every day, and sometimes to my salads. It makes me feel better.
The apple cider vinegar water makes a good mouthwash. It takes plaque off my teeth. And it is a lot cheaper than any mouthwash I can get at the pharmacy. LOL

I modified an old family Swedish treat (substituting out sugar). Below are approximates as I've actually never seen a recipe as my dad just ALWAYS makes it. He swears that vinegar every day will make you live forever (he's in his 80's, his sister is also in 80's, his dad lived to late 90's and his mom lived to late 80's).

1 cup Apple cider vinegar
1 extremely thinly cut cucumber
ground black pepper, to taste
Truvia, to taste

We also do:
extremely thinly cut onions
1 cup Apple cider vinegar
1 extremely thinly cut cucumber
1/4-1/2 tsp fresh chopped dill
ground black pepper, to taste
Truvia, to taste

We always drink the vinegar afterwards. Yum. I also drink pickle juice too. Yum.

i actually put quite a bit of it on my face as a toner. beautiful anti-fungal!

mix with green tea for glowing skin. when i used it twice a day, my skin was completely free of it's constant ruddiness and i'd been getting compliments on my
"glow". i never get compliments on my skin.

The reason it helps you lose weight is the acid helps breaks down your food faster, making it easier to metabolize so make sure you take the liquid form as the suplements do not have the same acidity

My sister takes it daily and it has helped her in plateaus. I TRIED to but it is SO strong it upsets my stomach and makes me gag while taking it. She uses the organic unfiltered (or something like that) kind because it's more effective than the regular cheap stuff at most stores. Its like $6+ at some grocery stores.

Myth.

I've not been able to find any published studies showing that it helps weight loss, and I've watched this topic for 10 years. I've also searched the topic at various reputable medical websites and any mentions have also stated there were no medical studies to show that it helps with weight loss.

The closest study would be a tiny study of 12 people that showed that consuming vinegar with a piece of bread felt fuller than those who ate the bread without the vinegar. I'm really not sure what their point was, but it wasn't weight loss. Quite honestly, if I dipped bread in vinegar I think I'd push my plate away and say I'd had enough too

A few studies have shown that vinegar may have some impact on how quickly a meal affects blood sugar levels, but body weight was not affected.

Vinegar does not have the ability to break down food faster or affect metabolism, this unfortunately is a myth. This was part of a popular but ineffective fad diet from the 70s.

Vinegar is highly acidic and can cause damage to tooth enamel as well as the tissues in the throat and stomach.

You should not try this if you are diabetic as it can affect your insulin levels.

Vinegar, consumed like this, can also have an adverse effect on some prescription medications.

Vinegar tablets usually do not contain any vinegar, so only real vinegar is recommended if you try this.

On the flip side - People who try tips and tricks like this often pay more attention to what they are eating, consciously or not, and may eat less as a result. That means weight loss. But please keep the warnings above in mind before you try it and please take it with a grain of salt.

I am all for natural health care, real food, and anything that mother nature provides that will improve my health. Unfortunately I've been at this long enough to know that there's a lot more hype than truth, and just because it's natural doesn't mean it's effective or safe.

Remember, if it really worked our doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies would push it and it would make the headlines on CNN. After so many years of vinegar diet claims, we're fatter not thinner.

I love the apple vinegar! I might be weird but I think it tastes great great anti-oxidant, and helps with heart burn.

I've been taking at least 2 tbsp of Bragg's organic ACV with a bottle of water every morning.

It definitely helps curb my appetite and I too have been getting compliments about my skin.

I've read that it's been used for many ailments for years, so if it doesn't help with my weight, at least I'll be gaining some benefit!

My great-grandmother lived by this. She drank a shot every night before bed, and lived to her mid 90's.

FWIW: If I wake up in the night with leg cramps or foot cramps - I take a tbs of ACV in a glass of water - the cramps dissipate immediately. My mother, who is 81 swears by this "cure" and has been using it for years.

A number of years ago, we had a friend who mixed 1 tbs ACV (preferably the unfiltered variety), a tbs of honey, and 8 oz. of water - she drank it daily for various purposes that I never quite understood. I tried it for awhile but didn't see much improvement in anything - but who knows?
