Default Pudding on Phase 1

I have a box of sf ff pudding mix and a container of ff plain yogurt.. I was thinking of throwing the two in my ice cream maker and seeing what happens..

My question, can we have pudding mix on phase 1?

Thanks wife89

Sorry but it's not allowed. If you check the ingredients, you will find cornstarch and other off program things. The ricotta creme recipe is a good one if you need dessert. Check out the Recipe Section.

(As a MOD, I have to ask you "Have you read the Book?")

Not that I am trying to tell anyone what to do, but I'd love to see most people avoid all artificial sweeteners during phase 1 and then see how much you want sweet things when you're done. For me personally, the taste of sweet (even with an artificial sweetener) keeps the cravings alive. I cringe when I see people using a lot of artificial sweeteners through the day. But that's just my own perspective.

I understand... this doesn't affect me at all. In fact it keeps the cravings at bay for me. I tried it once and it didn't work..LOL

As with all things it is clearly an individual reaction. Sweeteners, even fruit, does not cause cravings for me. Let me ANYWHERE near a slice of bread, on the other hand . . .

I think each of us needs to do what works. For me, so far, every few days I've had one of the tiny Hershey's Dark Sugar Free candies and it helps alot. I couldn't find where it wasn't allowed but perhaps I'm wrong. This week I've actually had to eat about 1/2 c bran cereal in the a.m. twice because I'm having serious constipation issues and that seems to work (along w/all the fiber supplements, etc.). Perhaps I'm not losing as much as I could - I'm down 5 lbs in 9 days.

You might want to eat the sugar free jello with some FF cool whip, that also helps!!

I learned you can make pudding out of Chia--but have yet to try it.

Also, SB has some good recipes (in the books) for ricotta custard, and stove top custard.

I tried the stove top custard and it is delicious. I just put a little stevia in it to sweeten it (not as sweet as sf soda or pudding), and some extract of almond.

I should get some chia today to try the pudding this weekend. Trying new things helps me stay on plan.

Edit: Sorry, I am calling "chilled espresso custard" "stove top" because I was surprised that it turned out so well, being cooked in a pan on the stove (like the recipe says.) However, I ate it hot and it was good, and with almond extract not coffee.

Chia pudding is great! I have made with almond and cow milk, adding Torani sf vanilla syrup. Experiment with the ratio of seeds to liquid to get the right texture and it's best left overnight to fully swell up. Have fun with that!

I the recipes I have found on this forum.
