Default Lazy vacation weekend dilemma

A very kind friend has offered to let us use their vacation house on the St. Lawrence seaway for the weekend. We have had a stressful May, so we are looking forward to getting away.
Now in the past, I would spend this kind of weekend laying around reading and eating and drinking. Going out to eat would mean beer and wings. And from what I can tell, the local restaurants are pizza and burgers.
We will be able to cook some, but we are both physically tired (and my partner has bronchittis) so there won't be the option of lots of long walks, at least this time.
I'm really concerned about controlling my food intake. Any tips?

Hit the grocery store when you get into town and buy some healthy things that you like to fill up on at home before you go out? That's what I do at the beach.

Mm. I like that idea about grocery shopping in town for a few things you'll be able to make while there.

If you choose to go out to eat, make a short list about what you'll have. Example: You can have one burger, but you'll skip the fries and instead have veggies and a salad.

Also, plan things to do together that don't involve food, even if you can't have long walks, there are board games or card games to be played. Books to be read. A mug of tea or coffee and a great conversation or a quiet evening watching the stars.

Have a great time on your vacation!
