I always scoffed at the use of lf cream cheese because I felt like it was still pretty high in calories and a waste of them. But I've had a box of it around for a couple of weeks and find myself using it in small quantities all the time with big taste advantage. A small amount really adds a creamy taste. For instance, tonight I'm making my creamy saurkraut with pork chops and about 100 calories of the lf cc (divided between me and my husband) makes all the difference and makes the meal so creamy and satisfying. Just wanted to share the love of lf cream cheese.
I agree. I use a little in Chiken Tikka Masala instead of heavy cream and it comes out great. I even used it the other night with chicken broth and cajun seasoning and made a sauce for my chicken!
and since this has been on my mind now, i even added some to my veggie saute last night. i used about 5 zucchini, 3 tom, 3 heads cauli, chicken broth, an onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. then the cream cheese entered my mind, so i added 1-2 oz, and it was great!!!
