I'm not embarrassed by anything that I listen to. I'm a broadway and opera kind of girl, so a lot of my songs can be "goofy" as my dad puts it lol, and I also love Disney and cartoony or video game music. I will crank it up, and sing very loudly with it.... but if I'm alone, I may dance. That is something I don't let many see. lol.

OK, here's an embarrassing one: I love a cappella, and would totally listen to it more frequently if more a cappella groups, outside of college campus ones (which I like, but which tend to produce low quality recordings), existed.
A few years ago my MIL was looking for birthday gift ideas, and my husband told his mom that I was looking for CDs of a cappella music. My inlaws gave me a gospel a cappella CD which, given that I'm Jewish, wasn't quite what I was looking for.
Hanson...yes I said it and I got to the concerts when they are in town...I LOVE THEM! there new music is soo good but I do on some occasions listen to their very first CD mmmmbop :P
Oh my God I LOVE HANSON!!!!!! I can't believe you posted that hahahaha. They're so good live!
I don't feel guilty about much, but I like a lot of REALLY REALLY geeky heavy metal that I generally reserve for "me time" and don't brag about enjoying...Equilibrium, Stratovarius, Rhapsody of Fire come readily to mind.
edit: oh and Nienna since you started the thread, that reminds me...Nightwish and H.I.M!

I'm opposite. My primary music of choice is metal but occassionally I find "poppy" music that I just can't help but to listen to. I will say I won't actually buy it and put it on my MP3 player. I have limits my limits.
It's really interesting to see what people consider cool and what people consider guilty pleasures. Upon further reflection, I think what I define as a guilty pleasure changes based on who I am hanging out with. When I lived in Texas, for example, I didn't really consider country music to be a guilty pleasure, but I'm pretty apologetic about it elsewhere. And when I'm with certain friends from middle school, we definitely listen to BSB and Pink without a hint of shame, but I probably wouldn't advertise that to friends made in the past five years or so.
k0nfyo0zed, which Ricky Martin cd?? I can't help but smile whenever I hear Livin La Vida Loca. I very vividly remember that the very first song I listened to in the year 2000 was a Ricky Martin song. Ah, middle school!
MusicalJess, I feel you on the cleaning. My favorite way to get through cleaning is to put on a dress, heels, nice jewelry, and lots of goofy music.
Froufrou, Barry Manilow!!!!! The first concert that I ever went to was a Barry Manilow concert! So I sometimes secretly listen to him, too. And then try not to actually sing in public when his songs get stuck in my head.
Krampus, I secretly love Nightwish, myself! Well, not-so-secretly when I'm here in Finland. But I do have a guilty-pleasure Finnish band: Indica. I really don't think it's cool, even here, unless you're a ten-year-old girl, but I really like their song "In Passing".
Barbie Girl by Aqua...it was one of my daughters faves when she was little and my 23 dd and almost 26 years old ds still jump up and start dancing and singing it when it is even mentioned...
Hubby and I have our Thursday night date at home listening to XM on Direct TV through the speakers...we play "quickee quiz" to see who can name artist and song first...it's actually really a fun time...when I am winning he usually flips it to the Bluegrass station and cleans up...unless it Alison Krausse or Nicklecreek he wins...

haha. that's the one. it's got that song they used for the world cup (i think) and the one that, for some reason, i dance around to the most "shake your bon bon"...
i will also fess up to having, and occasionally listening to, the first couple back street boys CDs.
oh high school, why did your soundtrack have to be sooo cheesy?
