Yep it all starts(again) today. I have faltered before but finally fell off around October/November and as a result I found quite a bit that I has lost LOL.
I tried WW a couple weeks ago and hated it, too hard to get USED to eating crap and taking big point hits for the good so I am back. I am excited to lose again what I lost the first time, but more than that to feel better and not having insane cravings!
I'm back on the beach too. The only thing that worries me is I can't exercise for at least 3 weeks as I had a back procedure on my discs. I'm use to exercising hour to two hours daily and now no exercise. Many moons ago I had great success on the beach and like most of us that life happens and we go back to our old bad habits, I love this message board and just hope I can get thru phase I
I know, I always feel so great eating on plan but that mean o sugar monster tries getting me in the middle of the night, I just have to be strong and fight him off
Good luck everyone! It was definitely reading the experiences of others that helped me when I've had a successful Phase 1 (I've had a couple of them...)
Gumby, back again. I hope this time you have a great experience and come out on the other side a much healthier, wiser and thinner person.
Sluggo, to you too and you can do this if you want it bad enough. You just have to make up your mind and make this your number one priority. Don't worry about the exercise right now. I didn't do any exercising at all during my first two weeks and the weight still came off. There will be time enough for that a little later on. Love your bulldog by the way.
Lak, hang in there. I know phase one is a bit tough but you can do it if you really really want it.
Nana, then you've come to the right place. The support here is wonderful and very non judgemental. So just be sure and check in often.
Well, welcome everyone! I have one thing to say about Phase 1--- QUICHE! It is fabulous and can be made in soooo many different varieties. I made one on Sunday with a bunch of veggies I had on hand and sliced deli ham....it was so good. You can do it with lean meats, seafood, lf cheeses, and veggies...the possibilities are endless.
I love anytype of quiche, but I am a huge veggie fan so my favorite is one that is packed full of veggies!!! Here is the receipe for the one I made over the weekend:
8 eggs (egg substitute can be used)
1/2 red pepper, diced
1 cup sliced deli ham (cut up)
5 mushrooms, sliced
handful spinach (if using frozen, make sure it is thawed and drained well)
1/2 cup shredded part skim mozzarella cheese
salt and pepper
garlic powder
Preheat oven to 325-350 degrees. Spray glass pie dish with non-fat cooking spray. Beat the eggs in large bowl until yolks and whites are combined. Add the seasonings (salt, pepper, and garlic) and stir in well. Mix in the red pepper, ham, shrooms, spinach, and cheese. Once all ingredients are combined pour into pie dish. Cook for 25-30 minutes or until egg is cooked through and just starting to brown on top. Makes about 6 servings.
You can also add seafood, lean meats, other veggies, etc. Just keep in mind that any veggie that holds water will need to be drained so that the final product is not watery.
Thanks for the recipe Candle Lady. I just realized that since starting on SB I've never made a quiche so guess what I'm having for breakfast this morning? Yep, just happen to have all of the ingredients so I'm out of here headed for the kitchen.
