Default SBD Chat for Monday, March 7

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a great weekend. My visit with my parents went well. My mom has agreed to see a Lyme specialist in her town and my dad is supportive. I will be going to this appointment with her and am going to call today to schedule it. I'll keep everyone posted. We probably won't be able to go until next month.

AF is on her way, and I'm feeling a little sad and physically not so great. My b**bs hurt like h**l and I have just a general malaise. I also feel down because of what is going on with my parents and plus my son is growing up so fast. Can't wait for her to arrive so I can get on with my life.

Anyway, I think this will be a good week at work - it's break so no classes and things will be a little more chill. Hope everyone has a great day.

You know the last time I had those symptoms, Matilda, I ended up being pregnant. I'm glad things went well with your parents and that your work week looks good.

I am struggling today because I ate a bunch of junk yesterday. Sundays are so hard for me because we're out of the house from 8:00 in the morning until 5:00 at night and I already have to prep so many other things that prepping a whole day worth of food is just overwhelming. I need to come up with a better plan than just chucking any semblance of healthy eating out of the window, though. Today is just awful with the cravings.

Connor has off of school today and tomorrow for a German holiday so I'm taking the kids to see the third Narnia movie this afternoon. Tomorrow we have a BIG parade in town and Kadyn and Connor (and Avery, Lukas, and I ) are walking with the Scouts. Should be fun!

Off to get the cleaning done before the movie starts.

Good morning, Mmckellen!!! Hope your mom gets some relief from the specialist. I've never known anybody that's dealt w/ Lyme disease but I've heard it can be extremely difficult to deal with. And here's to AF coming and going quickly for you. I don't know about you, but it's so much worse waiting for her to get here...ugh!!! All that water weight and just general gross feeling. BLECH!!!

I'm giggling to myself right now b/c a lot of you are waking up and putting on a cup of coffee and I'm winding down w/ a glass of wine, LOL Ahhhhh, the perks of nightshift!!! No plans for today besides gym and doing my run for my first day of Week 3 of C25K. Got my March 5K this weekend w/ my mom...yay!!!

Okay, polishing off my glass of wine (umm, it's nearly half the bottle, LOL) and then hitting the hay. Goodnight, ladies.

Good morning, Matilda and those to come. Boy, I sure don't miss Aunt Flo! Getting older does have some advantages. Of course, Uncle Arthur Itis comes around a lot.

Yesterday was a day of struggle. My car was frozen shut and took a lot of work to get into. Not a good start to a cold and blizzardy day! I spent part of the afternoon messing around with my sump pump since water was coming into my basement. Paul will be here this morning to fix or replace the darn thing.

I did manage to get some organizing done for today's quilting meeting where I am teaching chicken pincushions and stack and whack coasters. I have my doctor appointment first and am hoping the news is good. (I've been on a new med for blood sugar.)

So here we go with a brand new week. Let's make it a good one.

Good morning Apparently my little corner of Vermont lucked out. Everyone else has 1-2' of snow and we just had rain. Unfortunately I'm supposed to head north for a meeting. Right now I'm just waiting to hear what we are doing.

Mathilda- AF is so not my friend these days - 3 months missing then shows up every 15-20 days. Good times
So glad your Mom is taking your suggestion and that you're going with her. Let us know how it goes.

Kara - I struggle with days away too. Hope the cravings pass quickly.

Kitty vomit, back in a bit

That was a fun way to start the day.

Sweet dreams Natasha

Ruth - No fair, both visitors spend too much time in my house
Yesterday sounds unpleasant. I hope today is better!

Still waiting to hear the plan for today. I hope it includes a later meeting time. Hope your Monday is uncomplicated and it's Happy Hour before you know it!

Natasha, have a good sleep! I hope you wine was nice. I wish I liked wine. I always feel so childish when we go out to eat and I order water.

Ruth, you must elaborate on "stack and whack coasters". That sounds intriguing! Hope your meeting goes well and that the pump repair is quick and easy!

Cyndi, have a safe drive today!

Matilda, I'm glad your mom agreed to see the Lyme specialist and hope he can help her manage her disease. I hope you start feeling much better as the day unfolds.

Kara, I hope you get a handle on those cravings. That should be fun, walking in the parade tomorrow. I hope the weather cooperates for it!

Natasha, as much as I love wine, it sure doesn't sound too appealing to me at the moment. That's a pleasant way to unwind after a long night's work, though, and I hope it lulls you into a restful sleep.

The field behind our house has become a lake with all the rain, but it's finally stopped and the sun may make an appearance by noon. No complaints from me, though, since it stayed above freezing.
I'll be heading out the farm shortly to see what awaits me after the weekend. Mondays are always busy with errands and whatnot, but there's no after school activity today and I should be able to leave at a decent hour.

Ruth, it sounds like you had a heck of a day yesterday. Today has to be better! BTW, I'm using your stack & whack coaster right this minute for my coffee. What are you going to use as a filler for the chicken pincushions? I think small beans would work nicely.

Cyndi, so glad you dodged the snow and sure hope you can avoid driving in it today! Yuck, kitty vomit. That's the main reason I haven't given in to adopting a pet. I just couldn't deal with cleaning up after them, although they are so dear.

Cottage, I'm using aquarium gravel, very fine but won't "leak" the way sand does. I am also going to try steel cut oats or quinoa - whichever is cheaper at the Bulk Barn. Beans are a bit too lumpy. (Once I made a beanbag frog that got left outside. The beans sprouted and made one messy and smelly amphibian!)

Good morning ladies! Another on program day for me yesterday and a good mindset today. Started last monday had a cheat meal on Wednesday, back on track for Wed night meal and clean since. Cheat meal couldn't be helped, really. DH is retired and loves to go out to lunch and he wasn't ready for me to start a diet yet , his words, and had planned to go to our favorite chinese buffett. So, I went not too happy...didn't do too bad and got right back on track. We usually go out to eat once a week so I'll have to be creative on where I want to go. Doesn't help that he likes me big! UGH! More issues to deal with. Baby steps! Okay, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. I sure am enjoying reading all the past posts...you are all inspirational!

Good morning! Doesn't it seem that Mondays roll around fast?

Matilda - Glad to hear it went well. But bummer you are blue

Kara - Hope today passes quickly for you and the takes the cravings with it.

Natasha - Good night!

Ruth - I had to read about your uncle several times to get it, LOL.

Cyndi - Drive safely!

Linda - Glad you only got rain. I'm hoping our snow days are over. And that I did not jinx myself writing that!

Kristen - Yay for being back on track. We eat out way less but now my husband will go with his brother now and then.

Today we take our second car in to be repaired. This is the one the teen drives that someone walked on top of and caused the roof to cave in. It is about $2300 in damages but insurance is paying most of it. Unfortunately we will be without it for a week. My BIL is loaning us his junker but the teen will be carless. Yikes!

Also working out with my mom and trainer today. And then home for cardio. Busy morning.

Have a great day everyone.

Apparently it's really awful up north so phone meeting today. That will make tomorrow crazy because there are things I need to pick-up before my meeting tomorrow night. It will be a big driving day and a late one oh well

Cottage - I can't imagine not having kitties. They aren't too messy though I always seem to end up with one with an eating disorder (eats too fast sometimes). We have two so they keep each other company and are best friends. That way we never feel guilty going away overnight

On the plus side I'll get lost done today and they had an extra PT appt. for me today which I can really use. Time to get stuff done

Good morning (afternoon for me!)

Matilda - I feel for you! Mine has just finished, but it is on its way again. I'm thankful for the two day break and cursing my stupid hormones.

I had a typical Monday at work, battling with a class of children who didn't want to be back after the weekend. By 8:30 I'd won them over, but it was physically tiring :-) Now I have my first Pilates class! I've been wanting to do a course for ages, so I'm excited to be finally starting!

Have a tolerable Monday!
