Default atkins vs. Ideal Protein

Good morning everyone..I'm hoping i can get some advice here. I have been on the Ideal Protein diet for about 6 weeks now and have done quite well. Although i'm doing well...the cost of the products are killing me as my husband is following it as well. My question is... has anyone here fliped from IP diet to Atkins? and were there any adverse effects. I'm so afraid to gain any of the weight back!! I'm so confused as to what to do!!

I think the main difference between IP and Atkins is the fat intake. Ideal Protein is a very low fat diet and Atkins is extremely high with all the cheese and bacon and steak etc..... I believe you can still follow most of the IP protocol though and substitute their shakes for Atkins or my preference is the one from Costco called "Premeir" Protein shakes. They have 30 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar. They are also low in carbs, 5 g I believe, but if you subtract the fiber it comes down to 2 g. Keep following the veggie and meat protocol for IP and don't add cheese or nuts or anything on the restricted list and I think you will still be highly successful.

I have just started Phase 1 again to get 10 more lbs off and have not used IP products and have gone back into Ketosis and am losing weight. Good luck to you.

I chose Atkins over IP because the information on the diet is free and it's something I can manage on my own without buying expensive products.

I also don't like the fact you have to use their products, I have a gluten allergy and most of them look unsafe for me.

when I got off IP(because of the cost) I began using products from these 2 websites:

http://www.lindora.com/

http://www.newlifestylediet.com/

Very similar, in some cases identical products, WAYY cheaper. Just make sure to check out the nutrition info, as there are a few higher carb items.

Some of the products on newlifestylediet website contain aspartame. But isnt that "not allowed" on IP?

Thanks!!!
