So I loaded up my iPod, had it charging, dragged out my fav sports bra and running socks and set my alarm for 5:59 this morning so I could get Day 1 of C25K in before work this morning. Alarm went off- I didn't even snooze it one time!- and I looked outside and saw... darkness. WHAT??? Since when did it start staying dark until 6 AM all of a sudden? I remember last month when I had to pull a blanket over my head because the sun was shining in at 5:15 AM!

I waited until 6:15 but it was still pretty dark and since I didn't have a route mapped out in my head, I didn't want to take the risk of going out and tripping over a stray brick in the sidewalk. Waiting until 6:30 really doesn't give me enough time to get in a run, take a shower, get dressed/ put on make-up and make it to work by 8 AM, but I'm gonna try it on Thursday.

At least now that it's cooled down some, I can run after work and not die in the middle of the street from heat exhaustion. We'll see how it goes tonight...

this Couch25k thing sounds like something I need to do. I have an Android phone though so no app but I need to look into the iTunes downloads. I would love to actually run a 5k this spring. Last year in October i did a 5k but it took forever bc I was so out of shape. I was weighing 218 and the 5k took me close to 40 mins, yikes! I know, embarrassing, it was more like a walk!!!

I did my first run tonight. I started on week 3 since I've been running for a little over a month. I love the app! I can concentrate on running rather than the timing.
leannerenee: I hear you on the evening runs. It is finally cooling down here in the evenings, still in the 80's, but it feels like a cool down.

Lifechanging, that's awesome that you DID a 5K! So what if it took you 40 minutes- next time you run one, you will improve on that. :-) I keep saying, "I don't care if I'm the last person over that finish line, I am still gonna run a 5K by the end of the year!"

I did D1W1 last night. I even did an extra 5 or so minutes of walking after the 5 minute cool down walk because I still had so much energy. Tomorrow I'm aiming for a 6:30 AM run.
