Like so many I can totally relate! Except that my best friends wedding is in September, I'm already so worried about it! I want to look good for the pictures (she deserves nice pics!) but I'm so worried about attracting attention, just like you! It's just terrible to be the only single female friend, I just know people are going to try to set me up. I'm going to cling to the advice you got!

Let us know how it went! Good luck and don't forget to have a great time!

It's also totally within your right to decline any invitation to dance. Just because a man asks you to do something doesn't mean you have to say yes! You're empowering yourself. Getting in shape. That doesn't mean men get to say what's what in your life now. Enjoy the attention, but remember, you call the shots!

Go, enjoy the wedding, enjoy feeling beautiful in your dress and don't worry.

I can totally understand your feelings...it's weird and uncomfortable to get attention from men!

But...I think you're overthinking this situation. If someone asks you to dance and you want to dance, then do it! It doesn't matter if the guy is short, tall, fat, skinny, old, young, bald or with long flowing hair. You don't have to be attracted to someone do dance with them. Just because you dance with them doesn't mean you have to kiss them, or sleep with them, or marry them. It's just a dance!

And, if you don't feel comfortable--then don't dance! It's as simple as that. Say your shoes are uncomfrotable (more likely than not, this will be true!).

Good luck!

I know how you feel too! My mom gets mad at me because I always tell her I assume I won't get raped because I am fat. Of course I know fat girls get raped too but I guess I just assume that no one will want me. Some guy paid me a compliment about a month ago and it made me want to puke...
