Unhappy Broken Fridge = Derailed Diet. HELP!!!

So, my fridge is about to kick the bucket, which leaves me unable to store fresh produce and proteins. Am I confined to canned veggies and (ICK!) canned meats until I can get a new "ice box"?

Tough situation! I feel for you. I buy salmon and tuna in the individual foil packages. If you're on phase II your fruit can be kept out. I've also kept my broccoli and bell peppers out for a while but eat it up pretty fast.

Ug that sucks!

I know this sounds inconvenient but if you live close to a market I'd just buy what you need for the day for dinner on the way home, then for lunches I'd probably just buy $5 salads from quiznos or something.

I lived without a fridge for 6 weeks after Katrina.
An igloo chest and ice are your friends. Just buy what you need every couple of days, put it in ziplocs, and stop for ice often. See if any of your friends has a little "dorm" fridge. I keep one in my attic and haul it down for holiday fridge overload. You may also be able to rent one.

Same thing is going on with me right now. Except our freezer works half the time, the fridge part doesn't work at all, and we're are confined to basically canned stuff, or stuff that doesn't need refridgerating. It sucks. I find that I can still eat pretty decent this way, though it sucks nothing can be refridgerated.
