Sloan, I am a devoted Clarks and Birkenstock girlie. I only wear shoes for comfort now after spending my life either barefoot or in painful shoes when I worked. I have a high instep, wide front and narrow heal. Neither company is perfect but I usually manage to find some comfortable shoes from them. Barefoot is REALLY bad for your feet; but you know that. My two favorite shoes just got discontinued so I'm on the hunt for new styles. I shop Zappos and Shoebuy often because they have free shipping both ways while I try to figure out the fit. Since I lost the 50 pounds, my foot size has changed.

I used to wear Earth shoes in the 70's and loved them. I tried on the BEST pair of Earth sandals this year and I wanted them SO badly that I was considering keeping them and trying to get them stretched. They felt like HEAVEN on my feet and they were adorable. They have a sueded bottom and the footbed felt like it was made for my feet. And, they were cute considering that most comfortable sandals are not so cute. Shoebuy often has shoes cheaper and if you google, you can come up with coupons. The problem is that their shipping is slow coming to you and if you have to return, it takes a couple of days for the credit to hit and then you WAIT for another pair to try. I more often use Zappos because they are so fast, and with the first exchange they send out the exchange before they get the returned pair back without charging/crediting the credit card. If you have to send back a second time for an exchange you have to do a new purchase. I almost always get the shoes in about 2-3 days and when you buy from them often, they'll upgrade to overnight shipping for free. But....they never have coupons and they are usually more expensive than Shoebuy. That's my review for today. As an extra special bonus, here's the link to the sandals that got away from me. I've already been on the phone with the Earth company asking them to make more of their shoes and sandals in wide.

Interesting about shoes. I loved Birkenstock's until I got a neuroma from a pair of them. I like Clarks too.

I'm back focused today, 2 pounds heavier than I was 10 days ago. I go back and forth between 176 and 178. Got to get below that 176 NOW, and that's all there is to that.

Grandkids are coming soon...the family is picking up a plastic swing set that was left here by the former owners. We have two sets, no reason the kids can't take one home since they don't have one.

I have a NSV for you. You know how as we women age certain parts of us tend to droop? Well, despite what you might read, chest exercises will improve that condition.
It's true, it's true, it's true

Rhonda, I am so sorry about your friends' health conditions. You take care of yourself, though. None of us want anything to happen to you.

Maryann, that's bad about the e-coli. You stay safe.

Rhonda, congratulations on your uplifting points.

Vickie, it's good you'll let Brodie do some resting in his cage.

I'm off here to pack the puter. I'll catch ya'll down the road. Literally!

We had a pool / birthday party for my Grandson last night.
Thunderstorms were here 1 hour before the party but they moved out and everyone had a great time.

Robin has worked so hard to have the back yard looking great.
He even lit the tikki lamps...

My boys are in Europe with their dad for 2 weeks.

We are exhausted from the beach and the party so we plan to
be couch potatoes today.

Sandra..I am starting chest exercises today

Hey chicks! I've been busy the last couple of days, so I'm trying to catch up on all of your posts. I did want to say something about my mom since that was the topic. My mom is 78 years old, but looks and acts much younger. She was very devoted to my dad, and is still a great mom. One of her favorite sayings is "somebody has to be the boss, so it might as well be me", and bossy she is! Despite being bossy, she is loved by all who meet her.

Vickie, thanks for the info about the shoes. I'll check out the site! Also, I'm really sorry about your problems with Brodie. I'm sure you would love to know the truth about what happened at the groomer. Pippi's leg seems to be doing very well. The vet suggested glucosamine and chondroitin, but I have not gotten to the pet supply, yet.

Rhonda, so sorry to hear about your friends. I have to tell you a funny story. When my grandmother was in her late 70's my little cousin was staying with her, and every night they would "take their exercises". My cousin taught grandmother a new exercise that they did faithfully every night for several nights. After about a week, my little cousin started to chant "come boobies come"! As you can imagine, my grandmother was amused but decided to leave off that exercise from then on. I guess she should have continued that one, and she may have gotten a little "lift"

Sandra, good luck!!!

Nancy, sounds like you have had a good time with your family. I'm smiling!

Maryann, that's scary about the e coli outbreaks. Where do they think it's coming from?

Night, chicks!
