Am I the only one who does my own brazilian waxing at home? I've always been far too embarassed to get it done in a salon so I've been doing mine at home for years. But I've also been using a hair growth inhibitor after each waxing so I don't get much hair growing in at all any more.
You all are brave souls!

Jenteal - Hair growth inhibitor?? Tell!!!

I've wanted a wax for quite a while, but due to my big ole belly fat and well fat in general, I've shied away from it. Once I lose more weight I'm going to get it done.

I. Hate. Shaving. HateHateHate. Swear to god I get a 5:00 shadow down there when I shave, it's ridiculous. I've tried using coochy cream, bikini zone, nair (oh the burrnnnnnn in the "creases" between pube and leg!!!!) and all different razors both regular and electric. Nothing keeps the itch and bumps and red angry lines and stubble away. It's just not worth it. Plus due to my big belly I can't SEE down there. Due to that I once had a little accident with an electric trimmer that the guard wasn't on properly and I didn't know it till my hub looked bc I called for him when I saw a little blood and his first word was "Yikes". YIKES, MAN?!? Dude you just don't say that and follow it with silence when you're peering down there. Sheesh.

I have zero pain tolerance so it scares me, but the hatred of shaving weighs more. I don't at all feel that totally hairless makes me look like a little girl. The rest of me is all woman, so the removal of hair isn't going to change that.

I've been using Kalo Hair Inhibitor Spray for about a year now. My legs just have a few hairs that are still coming in - but very fine. My nether region I haven't been doing quite as long, but in a few more months I'm expecting all hair growth (minus landing strip) to be non-existent! You do have to remove the hair by the root before using the spray though. So I wax down below and use an epilator on my legs.

I really hope that this response wasn't meant to be as rude as it sounded.

As a matter of fact I did read the through the thread, because I did actually start the darn thing. Just because a thread started to discuss brazilian waxes turns to vaginal piercings doesn't automatically mean you can still get waxed. I was just trying to clarify.

I am very new to piercings and am getting most of my information online and I wanted to turn to 3fc with a few questions because this place is great for support and we can talk about things that aren't easy to talk about in real life. There is no reason to respond to someone's questions in any other way than respectful and helpful.

I'm sorry if my questions offended you in some way, but as I said, I am new to this and am just trying to get as much information as possible so I can make an informed decision.

I keep on toying with this idea, and I just keep waivering! Partly because of the whole... Seeming prepubescent thing, partly from the sheer nerve of getting up the courage to just go do it! But I do think it's something I should do at least once in my life, just to say I have! No idea what the boyfriend would think of it... But hey, it grows back!

I've never liked shaving down there, because I just never got the technique right and wound up with ingrown hairs or that irritating stubbly feeling, even right after I'd done it!

ninepaw- you should definitely go for it! Give it a try and like you said it will grow back if you don't like it, lol. Find a place that has good reviews and ask as many questions as you want! (I did) if they have a problem with answering your questions, then they don't need ur business haha. I think it is absolutely worth it and my hubby loves it. You could always ask your bf and see what he thinks?

I'm going in for my second brazilian wax on tuesday! I've waited a lot longer than the 5 weeks due to money being tight and hubby not even being here at the moment but I plan on continuing at a more regular pace from now on. I will be relocating during the first week of September so hopefully I can find a waxer that will do as good of a job as the one I found here.

Yeah, you can def get a wax with a vch. I wouldn't get one right after having it done tho, give it 4-6 weeks for the initial healing so you don't accidentally get any wax in the new piercing. Also, while any piercing can potentially reject (and surface piercings have a much higher rejection rate than a "through and through" piercing) it's not super common for a vch to reject, provided your piercer places it properly and you take good care of it. The trick is finding an awesome piercer who knows their stuff and isn't going to let you bully them into putting it somewhere it's not going to work. When I worked as a piercing apprentice the piercer I worked under would straight up tell people if a piercing wouldn't work on them (she's the reason I know I can't get my septum pierced unless I want it really far forward). But I've met others who are like "Well, it might not work, but if you really want it...".

To Indie Soul~ if any piercer tells you you absolutely need to be shaved or waxed to get a va-jay-jay piercing just tell them thanks and leave. Generally speaking the only reason they say that is because they don't want to have to deal with hair, not because it's necessary for the piercing. The only exceptions I can think of would be outer labia piercings and the Christina. Oh, and possibly the fourchette.

so, can I jump on board here? I just got my first one and it wasn't too too painful. Yes, it was painful, but not OMG I AM GOING TO DIE.

However, I am now having all these body issue problems. I keep looking at it (because I'm not used to seeing so much of it) and saying, "Is my vagina normal"? Is this normal?!

So, I'm worried I have what is termed a fupa. If I google it, I get extremes, so I can't really be sure. If I google "brazilian," I of course only see super-skinny model bodies. Is it normal to have a little puff in the pelvic region? Not like a second tummy, but still significant. Maybe I am just freaking out because I'm pretty bloated today and I'm sure it is swollen from the brazilian.

Well, I thought I'd come back and let you ladies know I went fo it and I had my first brazilian wax back on the 4th! I really didn't find it to be too aweful... A couple of spots made me twitch and say, "Ouch!" but that's about as bad as it got.

Now, I didn't get to have any time with my boyfriend for a good week after all of that was done, and then he was finally around this weekend... And of course my TOM showed up! UGH! So he hasn't gotten to really explore this new development(or lack thereof! LOL) in my nether region... But I *think* he's happy about it. He was certainly suprised when he realized my hair was missing!

girlinwaterglobe: I, too, have a puffy vagina. For the first few days after having my wax done, I was a little silly and kept looking at it and kinda poking the puffiness... Just because it was a weird new thing I'd never really noticed about myself! At this point though, I really don't even notice it.

Said she'd give me a freebie, it'd been so long since she'd done a chick.

Uh... no, thank you.

Ripping my pubic hairs out by the roots MUST be one of those Rings of **** I hear about, so much.

THANKS! Every time I would google it, I would get absolutely nothing that answered my questions. Now if I could just find the type of piercer you described without hours of driving

I've recently relocated and will be here for around 6 months and I have not been able to find anyone that will do brazilians within a 2 hour drive of where I'm at. And google is, of course, no help at all because i just keep getting those annoying sites that supposedly list everything and when u get to that site there's nothing helpful on it. Very frustrating...
