If you're T2, you may want to try an IR diet. It helps the great majority of us. Basically, almost all T2s are IR, but not all folks with IR are diabetic. Those with PCOS also suffer IR. The diet will work no matter where your IR comes from.
I really liked the book "
The Insulin Resistant Diet", which I borrowed from my local library. It basically teaches you to link carbs with protein (never eat carb alone), and to balance one serving of carb to one serving of protein, with no more than 2 servings of carb in a meal. That "linking" and "balancing" helps keep your blood sugar from spiking. And it's really easy to follow... not a lot of counting and stuff.
