Mention how big his mouth has been looking these days... I'm kidding, but just thinking it might make you feel better, haha!

The comments about you losing too much weight are out of hand too. I'm annoyed by people who say we looked better heavier. Nobody runs up to thin women and say they'd look better with extra weight. People think that because we look different, somehow we look worse.

I feel like I have to hide my weight loss sometimes with baggy clothes around friends and family because they'll tell me to gain weight. Whereas, around strangers, I'll wear my skinny clothes and nobody gives me a second thought.
Why in the h e double hockey sticks would they tell you to gain weight? Envy?

Maybe. In a previous attempt, I had only lost down to 240 when I got the "don't get carried away" speech from family. (rolling eyes)

Wow, that's pretty rotten.

I had it happen to me with a child, but I do not think he knew any better. I was about 19 and at the pool. A little boy came to me and asked when the baby was due. His mom said, "ohhh, she's not having a baby." It was awkward, but I would say given his age forgivable. (funny how things like that do manage to stay in your head and self image of yourself for years and years though).

Children are always forgivable.

I could be wrong, but if I'd been Mom, I might not have been so quick to correct him. Would it have been less embarrassing for you to let the little boy think you were expecting? It seems to me that jumping right in to set the record straight was awkward for all three of you.

The episode that angered me, when I was in my late teens, was when I went to the mall with my brother and his girlfriend, bringing my first baby along. Even though I was the one pushing the stroller, and my daughter looks very much like me with our Native-American dark hair and eyes, people kept coming up to my brother's model-thin, blonde-haired, blue-eyed girlfriend and asking her how old *her* baby was. Like I was so fat nobody could possibly want to make a baby with me?

Awwwwh. It is frustrating. It definitely would have been less awkward in my case if the mom hadn't have said anything. Ah well.

Oh, honey. I've experienced that before too and it's the worst. This was back when I was actually thin! I was 17 years old and my friend and I went to this little cafe. We were having a great time and just as we were walking out, this lady that worked there said to me, "How much time do you have left?" and, me being 17 and NOT pregnant (hahah), I had no idea what she was talking about. I asked her what she meant and then it dawned on me. She immediately apologized and I just felt like crying. My friend assured me it was because I was wearing an empire-waist sweater but I felt terrible for days. I also donated that sweater to the Goodwill! hahah.
