Default Monday in May Beach Chat

Good Morning

I'm going to grab a cup of coffee....right back!

Stop and chat today!

I've been up and ready for awhile. I guess the snow passing us by this AM has me all revved up! I have a list of outdoor projects and am trying a new recipe for flourless oatmeal muffins. I hope they turn out. Kirk leaves for Alaska on the 16th, so we really have to get some stuff done here....one thing at a time. I do hear the pool calling my name so I think I'll bike in early.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Debbie. It's lovely to see you in the AM again We had snow early last week and humid 80s all weekend. Such weird weather but my garden seems happy! Looking forward to that oatmeal recipe. I love anything with oats.

Cottage - Hope your Dad is less sore. Any more info on the accident?

Things are a bit calmer here today. We have been separating the cats at night, when we are out, or just when a time out is needed. They seem calmer this morning so hopefully that also means Sebastian is feeling better. As predicted the antibiotic bothered his stomach so he only got two doses. I'll talk to the vet this morning about plan B.

We had a perfect birding weekend. Plum Island was birder heaven - migrants popping all over the place and perfect weather. Then we had a life bird at our feeder yesterday. Makes me want to call in busy this weekend and just bird.

Stop by and say hello before your busy week starts. It's so nice to hear from all of you

Good morning, Debbie, and those to come.

It's a rainy morning here, fuel for the gardens. We came up with a nice design for our front garden and got most of that planted yesterday, but I didn't have time to get the fertilizer and mulch down. It looks really nice, though, and I'm pleased with the way it turned out. I'm hoping I can get the fertilizer down when I get home this afternoon, and Jake can do the mulching. Then the front will all be finished. I still have to get the beans planted and my cucumbers and zucchini in, too! This weekend was pretty much a wash out between spending all day Saturday at the hospital and the kids all here yesterday.

Morning, Cyndi! We weren't able to find out anything from the police over the weekend, but Dad is calling them first thing today. He's still sore but coming along. Thanks for asking. Glad your felines are calming down.

Hi Cyndi! Glad your birding was perfect! I'm glad Twynn chimed in about the kitties. It sounds like a normal thing. I'm hoping it really warms up here. I'm going to go outside for a bit as soon as it gets light.

Hi Linda! I wish I had some help with a nice design for my garden...yours sounds wonderful! We need to get going very quickly here! I'm feeling lots of compassion for your Dad...it has to be very hard on him.

Hi! I'm new to South Beach (just completing my 2nd week) and I'm looking for some accountability partners. I've got to get ready for work now (high school teacher) but I'll try to stop back in this afternoon to get to know everyone a little better.

Frances

Thinking of Linda's Dad and Cyndi's felines this morning. I nearly called them p u s s y cats and then remembered what the censor does to that word.

Feeling a bit down this morning. I got to the testing yesterday and hung around with Jazz. Finally came home and discovered they had changed the date and forgot to call me! Grrrr. We're rescheduled for May 16 - another weekend booked up. I do like my Sunday afternoons clear.

Anyhow, there's been too much gloom and doom around here with three funerals in the past while and I'm not going to let it get to me. I have one this morning but am going to skip the "lunch" and drop off my quilt for Victoria's Quilts and then have ME day. I do have to pick up some soccer club money from Scott at the 6 PM practice but that's it.

So let's go on and enjoy today. My plum tree is in bloom and is a cloud of white in the dog yard. Too bad they don't appreciate it as much as I do. They do seem to like eating the violets that grow in a shady corner.

Happy May Monday!

Good morning Debbie (bright and early again), Cyndi, Linda, Ruth

Welcome Frances! This is a great place for accountability, support, laughs. Glad to have you join us. What subject do you teach? My younger son is a HS junior.

My DH comes home this afternoon. He got to do yoga and long bike rides in DC so I hope he is willing to wait for me to heal to do that here... I will be sad if he starts in again without me.

Hello friends

My father died a little bit after 9 PM last night. He was at home and my mother, sister and I were with him, holding his hands and talking to him at the time. I'm so thankful to hospice for that. I can barely think straight right now, but I wanted to let those of you who are praying for us know. Thank you again for your prayers.
