Good job on doing 7 min. I have one at home and only go on it on my days off. I hate the elliptical I can workout for an hour, walk on the treadmill for 45-60 min but the elliptical kicks my a**. We got one because my mom thought she liked it (she has degenerative arthritis) and she will do 30-45 seconds on it so not a great investment.
On my days off I do 2 12-15min segements on it. Its a great calorie burner and I feel good afterward but I just can't seem to break past the 15min mark.
The one I have I can't keep my heels down there is no way to go on the thing and have the heels stay down. Does anyone else have this issue. I thought that was the purpose of the elliptical is to keep the feet flat. I have had a friend try it too and no way will the feet stay flat. Any tips.

Anyway thought I would say congrats and it really is a good workout I guess I should try it at least 2-3 times a week though.

You beat me ... I just tried it for the first time and stayed on it about 5 minutes. It's scary at first but I will keep trying. I'm used to doing 2 miles on the treadmill but this ellipitical is totally a new thing for me.

the elliptical is great because you are warming up your legs and arms before you get into a workout. i prefer this over the treadmill.

I don't keep my feet flat either on the elliptical. I think it's mostly the striking of the food that it's supposed to avoid, thus making it lower impact than running.

Woo woo! 7 minutes for a first time on an eliptical machine is AWESOME. I can Jazzercise for an hour, jog for awhile, but get me on that machine and my butt is totally whooped! Good for you!
