We're home, finally! The kids made it to bed on time and I actually have time to chat tonight before my 9:00 bedtime rolls around. Tomorrow is my pedicure and facial, right after I go get my new ID card. When Tom made Master Sergeant, I finally got the chance to get rid of my old ID card with the picture that got taken when I was about 8 1/2 months pregnant with Avery. Every time I pull that thing out of my wallet I laugh at how chubby my face looked! Funny story - when I got that card, they asked what my weight was (it's on the back of your ID) and I just stared at the clerk. I said, "Do you really want my weight NOW???" She laughed and said, "No, just your normal weight!" That one says 135 pounds, but now I get to go in tomorrow and proudly change it to 132! I hope I have time after my spa appointment to get the truck washed and vacuumed. OK, enough jibber jabber from me.
Linda, that is fantastic about your clothes fitting better! What a great feeling! I hope your day is sunny and beautiful! I did the car wash route, too. I took Tom's car today and got it filled up on gas and all nice and clean. Tomorrow I'm going to take the Tahoe to get prettied up. The kids had made an absolute mess in there so they spent about forty-five minutes this afternoon cleaning it out so I would be able to vacuum it tomorrow. Yuck - the things we found...
Debbie, Zion is one of those trips on our must-do list when we get back to the States. Tom's also never been to Yellowstone, but I went with his mom when we did a cross-country trip together. He wants to go there, too. We went to Lassen twice when we lived in California and Yosemite once and loved both!
Heidi, I'm SO excited for you that your husband is coming home today! Have a great reunion!!!
Cyndi, I hope your Wii didn't yell at you. Good luck at the office today. I'll be thinking of you!
Mmckellen, I'm so glad you had a good trip to Florida!
Deb, I have had an errand *week*! It's been running around everywhere for me! Hope your errands are enjoyable and that that third cup of coffee got you going!
Tammie, what fun - a Biggest Loser competition! I hope you win!!! Sorry to hear about your coffee machine.
Laurie, welcome to the daily chat! You are brave to teach high schoolers!!! What subject do you teach?
Karen, I hope you get a clear answer on the forecast and make the right decision for your travels. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Jenn, so don't leave us hanging! What's your favorite Thai meal??? I love Thai/Indian/Nepalese food!!! I see you already answered.
Sunny, you have the right idea to have a plan when you're eating out! Congrats on the loss so far!!!
Jenny, we have pigeons in our eaves and they are constantly pooping on our trash cans and car roofs. I HATE IT!
Sharon, the thing about South Beach is that you will not see many huge quick losses, but what you will see (if you stay on plan, of course) is a slow and steady trend downward. It used to frustrate me to no end that I couldn't get to goal RIGHT NOW. But I've been hanging around this forum for about three years now and when I started here, Ruth was at about 210 pounds and now look at her. She is well under 200 and still moving down. It's seeing things like that - people making little changes and sticking to their guns and maintaining the losses that they have - that keep me motivated now. Yes, I want to get to goal. But I want to keep the weight off, not regain it and then have to lose it again. This is the plan to do that. A solid, healthy way of eating for the rest of your life. It's not a diet of deprivation; it's an eating plan that will set you up to have healthy habits and a strong body.
