MJ is inspiring...we have very similar statistics it’s almost scary! I'm the same age and height with a similar starting weight and goal weight (we're even in similar professions) but I just can't seem to get the weight moving any more. I think I've become too comfortable but yet I'm not happy and I don’t like what I see. I think I need something to push me. The first time through I wanted to lose weight before I got preggers and now this time I don't have anything to really reach for. MJ said she wanted to lose weight before starting her career...I think I need something like that to give me a push.

MJ, I think there is a bit of that sort of negativity in all cultures. Just not from husbands. I know that my relatives who are severly or morbidly obese think normal weight is unnatural for one of our family. I think it is a form of extreme denial as to what they are doing to their own health though. I do know a fair number of Indian people and I was suprised to learn that there is so much diabetes and heart disease problems for them. I somehow thought all those vegetarians must have fewer such problems, but no. So you need to do what is healthy for you. I doubt that you feel that you are jeapardizing your health in any way by adopting healthier eating habits and exercising more.

I managed to wake up and go to the 5:30AM spin class 3 days in a row. I've gone 4 times in the last week, plus a long hike on Sunday, so I've managed to up the exercise. My legs are tired, but I'm proud of myself for doing more.

Good morning all!

Dee- Thanks a lot for the nice words!
Tell me something...are you getting in all the water and fiber?I love lean cuisine too but I have noticed they don't have much fiber because they do not use whole grains unless you buy the Lean-cuisine-Spa menu. Also some veggies contain more fiber than others. I have noticed that if I do not get enough water or fiber in, it leads to constipation, bloating and weight fluctuations.

Dawn- I checked now, no kidding!our profiles are freaky similar!!! You are doing awesome yourself girl...I know that last few lbs can be tricky! If I get too complacent and stop measuring my food...I notice that i do not lose. May be you should buy something you can't wear now as a motivation

Barbara- Very true!
You know...many people are vegetarian not because they want to be healthy but for religious reasons.I mean no offence to them...but since we are talking about Indian vegetarian food I will give you an example. The cooking is done using clarified butter. The vegetarians love Indian cheese as substitute for meat which is made of full-fat milk+heavy cream. There is no concept of salad greens...vegetables are always cooked in oil with lots of spices and usually all the nutritional value is lost. Also the white Basmati rice that is served with Indian dishes is totally refined.
My point is portion control and lean protein and whole grains is the key. I lost most of the weight eating whole grains, lean meat, egg whites and fish and plenty of fruits and raw veggies.

Have a good weekend all!

Happy Friday!

Weird, I'm down 1.5lbs. Yesterday, I didn't eat any processed food and had a "Skinny Girl Cocktail." Rough Day.... With that in mind, I didn't expect to see any WL this am, but to my Surprise!! I have been back on LAWL since 1/28/10. At this point I'm down 7lbs, so far. I read that if I have not had WL longer than 2weeks I should consider a plateau breaker or maybe a jump start. Hmmm?

MJ: Good points about the fiber & water intake. I consume more than my share of water daily so I don't think that's the culprit. However, I haven't tried the Lean Cuisine Spa. I'll pick up one this weekend to have on hand in the up coming week. Maybe it will make a difference, its certainly worth a try. Thanks for your feedback.

Have a great weekend everyone!

DCB, I bet your problem was salt. I have to be really careful or my weight will blip up. I have found one salty meal can mean 4 pounds the next day. A single diet soda is a pound for the next day. One time I was in a funk and ate 5 large pickles and was up an alarming 7 pounds the next day. It doesn't last, but it is upsetting to see those numbers on the scale.

MJ, No wonder I felt so sick last time couple of times we went out to Indian food. You can see the fried veggies, but I didn't realize the sauce was quite so full of butter. One guy that I work with (not an Indian) went out to eat almost every lunch to this Indian restaurant and ended up with gout. I bet it was the butter in the Indian food.

Hey guys!!

Welcome Dee!

I was away for work this past week, but am happy to report I didn't gain! It's tough when there's a 4 star breakfast buffet waiting for you each morning, lunch delivered to the office, and dinner out at amazing restaurants wach night!

Am happy to be back home though. Making my food shopping list and back on the ww-wagon today! So far so good, I feel amazing!

Hello to everyone!

Oh, and I am thrilled that this snow is going away!!

I've been MIA too...Nicole, I'm following your posts on FB - glad to hear your dad is making progress

MJ - wow - you are flying along on the weight loss train (for the oldies that remember Pearl, she always referenced a train)

Jillian - hope you celebrate DH's birthday in a huge way....make some great memories!

Lots of familiar faces posting...glad I stopped by today...I'm moving along doing the QWLC program here in Georgia. Very simliar to LAWL. I'm heading into week 3 and I'm down about 9 lbs....so I'm happy about that. For some reason, I'm really grasping the program and getting into the groove. It's all about very little salt, no processed foods, no alcohol, no life, very little carbs, fruits and veggies!

Have a great week everyone...bikini season coming up soon....
